It's not the God of War you once knew, but Kratos' debut on PS4 brings the franchise back into the limelight in a big way as one of the best games of its generation.Microtransactions: nope

With all the freedom it gives you to web-sling through New York City and stick goons to walls, Spider-Man for PS4 is the best Spider-Story I've had the pleasure to experience, and even on its own is a brilliant game.

10 / 10.0 - The Quarry
Jun 15, 2022

The Quarry is incredibly entertaining and a blast to go through. Even with a list of small flaws, I still can’t wait to go through again and unlock some more of the 186 endings, as well as numerous death sequences. I’m not sure how much of that majestic sheen will still be there after multiple playthroughs, but I’m going to find out. Summer camp was never this thrilling when I was a kid.

The exploration flaws are only a somewhat minor gripe, considering that the races themselves are some of the best that Forza Horizon 5 has to offer, and the expansion even includes various Hot Wheels pieces for players to create their own events too. Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels already feels like a massive and enjoyable expansion, and hopefully the player-created content will mean there’s even more to look forward to while we wait for the game’s second expansion.

9.5 / 10.0 - Okami HD
Aug 15, 2018

An all-round beautiful game that has been made even more beautiful by the passage of time. Its availability on so many other platforms may not necessarily make this version a must-have, but for Switch owners, it's definitely a must-play. For those who have never experienced it, this version is the ultimate. The $20 price tag doesn't hurt it one bit either. But maybe I'm just a big ol' softie.

9.5 / 10.0 - Guacamelee! 2
Aug 23, 2018

Guacamelee! 2 is one of the best Metroidvanias on the market. The art style is fantastic. The writing is hilarious and will leave you in stitches on a whim. The world is diverse and chock-full of culture, life, and collectibles. And the game's unique focus on combat and precision platforming sets it apart from the pack. It's the kind of game you lose track of time while playing, and when it's over you'll just want more.
