9 / 10 - CHUCHEL
May 8, 2018

Ah, so we’ve reached the point of the verdict. I’ve been handing out a lot of perfect scores lately, you know with Hellblade, Batman: The Enemy Within, Okami, etc., which is not something I do often and I’m a bit saddened that I can’t really give a 10 for CHUCHEL as well.

The Silver Case, besides being weird as hell, is a solid visual novel game. The story works well despite its division into three campaigns and if you can struggle through the puzzles you’ll find an enjoyable experience for any Suda51 fan. Just be prepared for crazy.

Assassin's Creed Rogue was tones of fun and I personally am glad it got the remaster so that I had the chance to play it on current gen consoles. It was a nice chance to get to see Shay story in the whole series as well as a nice twist to play as a Templar.

Surviving Mars is a fulfilling successor to the franchises of its developers and publishers. It offers a fantastic balance of city building, resource management, exploration, research and frequent challenges along the way, encapsulated in the delightful aesthetics of the red planet.

It's understandable why some people have gripes with Britannia but it's the expected grips from changes to the main formula. As this isn't main total war game but the first of their Saga series, Creative Assembly have the chance to just mess around and try new ideas. Britannia is a breath of fresh air for the Historical total war games as the last two we had to use were very much and up and down affair.

A TERRIBLE PUN (THAT’S ME!)

But as far as worthiness in the price tag and considering that others have already owned the base game or what others prefer to call it as the vanilla version. I have to say it’s still worth it just for the kind of fun you get from playing around with the new battle mechanics along with the rare items you can get from doing the challenges or crafting.

It is clear that the two core foci of Spider-Man are character building and player experience. Keeping these elements in mind at all times has made Insomniac’s imagining of this world a pleasure to play through and experience. Not-so-subtle nods to the MCU also suggest that further characters might appear in the future; on top of the impressive and exciting array of villains which this game boasts (no spoilers!). A classic Marvel post-credits scene reveals part of the potential future for this world, and it is fair to assume that, given the game’s success, this future may be closer than we expect. I for one thoroughly look forward to whatever the next installment might hold for fans. In itself, this game is a resounding success.

It’s an awesome game despite hugging the trends of hero shooters and battle royale. If you’re someone coming back to the Call of Duty scene it can be unrecognizable due to the amount of stuffs that changed and got added. Unlocking secret camos for your favorite guns take time yet feels worth it when it evolves into something crazy the more kills you get. Hidden Easter eggs also bear some weight as you get cool stuffs to help in the zombie-killing journey.

A Terrible Pun (that’s me!)

Grab a friend with you! Join a pub game! Quit whenever you like! Others will come, sooner or later! It’s a hell of a fun game that I would enjoy time and time again now that I have both the handheld and console version of the game. A fun and engaging core story although a bit shorter than I wanted but considering the fact that you have six characters and each with their own separate endings you’ll be wishing the game could end faster!

9 / 10 - Omensight
May 29, 2018

As the spiritual successor to the well-received Stories: The Path of Destinies, Omensight delivers on our expectations. The game might feel a tad out of place with Triple-A titles competing against it but for those that want to enjoy a game with a gripping story filled with intrigue and extremely fun gameplay, Omensight is a great choice.

In short (and with a little yellow raincoat on), Little Nightmares is an incredible game and without a doubt one of the finest and most grotesque horror games ever made. If you’re after cheap thrills and jump scares then you won’t find any here, as what Little Nightmares does is turn those overused, short-term horror story elements on their heads, and in doing so makes the game unpredictable and tremendously scary for the entire duration of your adventure.

9 / 10 - Mega Man 11

Overall, Capcom has revived the Megaman franchise and reinvigorated it with modern day gaming platforming excellence. The graphics, the soundtrack, and the actual gameplay meld into one complete package that fans and newcomers alike can enjoy. While the game does carry a hefty price tag across all platforms, the sheer number of hours of enjoyment it’ll give you makes it all worthwhile if you’re a fan of 2.5D platformers.

All in all, it’s a game that simply goes above and beyond what normal fighting games do. From the overall aesthetic to the fluidity of its unique combat. The two-story modes offer unique experiences and online matches give the game value in replayability. And I’m probably a broken record at this point but Libra of Souls is definitely the star of the show as it encourages players to be creative while also experimental.

Despite this hitch, Surf ‘n’ Turf is easy to recommend to Overcooked fans as long as you are up to the challenge. If you have 3 or more players in your squad, you may find that you are good to go. If you are playing with a single friend or partner, however, be ready for what will inevitably turn out to be a difficult, but rewarding, time.

Overall, with a cast of over 170 characters to play as, an absolutely insane amount of character dialogue and an equally insane amount of enemies to slay, Warriors Orochi 4 will keep you busy for hours and hours on end. The story mode featuring missions that take anywhere from 7 to 20 minutes each to complete results in satisfying battle sessions that are rewarding. Gameplay is excellent despite being repetitive hack and slash based since it is quite simply, incredibly fun and implemented in a non-aggravating non-grindy manner. The sheer number of characters each with unique weapons makes Warriors Orochi 4 a must buy game for fans of the musou game genre and is quite easily one of the best fun games of 2018.

When it comes to the regular mode’s menu it does offer the slick and clean interface that shows each track in a line of fives and hovering over one would preview the song a bit of dance moves you’d be expected to do. Sorting has a few options from the JD 2019’s tracks, alphabetical orders, number of dancers and difficulty. Going through on the left-hand side is where the home tab lies as well as the playlists, song list, search bar and profile card.

For my first time playing a Taiko no Tatsujin game, I wouldn’t say I did too badly having played both the Switch and PS4 version. The PlayStation 4 version sadly is hard to get hold of physically in the UK and doesn’t come with a bundle which is disappointing and even worse is that the Switch USB drum doesn’t work with it either. So having to buy the game and drum from abroad and have them imported is quite a problem personally.

So final thoughts, this is a great racer for the Nintendo Switch or any system you choose to buy the game on, with plenty to dig into. I found the learning curve was just about right, and there was plenty to unlock and achieve. I am hoping that the developers keep pumping out more tracks and content over time, even allow community created tracks if the sales are there, which they should be. I can truly say this game is well worth picking up.

9 / 10 - Alan Wake 2
Nov 2, 2023

Alan Wake 2 is more than a game; it’s an emotional rollercoaster that had me gripping the controller and holding my breath. It’s an experience that gets under your skin and refuses to let go. Every moment is filled with tension and dread, making it one of the most immersive horror games I’ve ever played.
