Stories: Path of Destiny has a lot of good ideas and tries to implement them as best it can. Ultimately, most of the best ideas fall a little short of the mark. The combat is ambitious but ends up being sloppy. The story is large but ends up being repetitive. The RPG elements are fun, but most of it is maxed out very early in the game making it sort of pointless. Everything that this game does, starts out well, but always falls short. In most cases, these drawbacks are enough to ruin the experience. The end result is a game that tries to do a lot, but doesn't try hard enough.
A welcome break from the more hardcore style of VR shooters. Blowing up fruit while having to focus on processing items on a conveyor belt is hectic fun. The visual style helps relieve any stress you might have from having to multitask like this. Shooty Fruity is light hearted fun that focuses in you having a good time rather than trying to survive. It is a fairly short game with some interesting mechanics that are a welcome change from the standard shooters we are used to.
Once you get over initial learning curve the addiction to the game will begin to set in. Growing and harvesting crops is surprisingly fun. Learning about all the different machines and how to use them is fun all on its own. You will constantly strive toward getting more efficient in your farming techniques. There is so much enjoyment to be had in upgrading your machines and simply growing your farm. Watching the money roll into your bank account makes this game far more addictive than you might expect.
A dark and unusual story that is enriched by one of the impressive and unconventional hero’s you will ever see. While some tedious puzzles hamper the experience, there is enough strength in the story to make it worthwhile. Senua’s willpower and strength will be something you admire from start to finish. The combat is limited but fluid. The hard hitting attacks make the occational battle something to look forward to. Hellblade is an unusual game that will have a strong emotional impact on you. They may not necessarily be emotions you want to invoke, but it seems as though this is what the game sets out to achieve. This is a game you are unlikely to forget.
The jump to Norse mythology was a bold change that has paid off. The new gods and new setting really shake things up. The changes to the combat system are a little clunky at first, but you get the hang of them after a while. The switch of focus from Kratos mindlessly killing everything to a relationship between a man and his son is a new step for the franchise and is the most enjoyable part of the game. From start to finish, you will find more and more things that impress you about this game. Everything is built to perfection. Whether you like this kind of game or not, there no denying that God of War is a beautiful masterpiece.
A simple concept with a very clean design makes this game a nice treat to play if you are stuck in a confined space for a period of time. The gameplay is very easy to explain to people who would not consider themselves gamers and the rules are so simple that you will have no problem playing it with children. The lack of online multiplayer prevents this game from being anything more than a travel game. Although it is a shame, for the price range this game is a worthy purchase for those who travel frequently.
Not a Hero starts out very strong and you will really enjoy the first 10-15 levels. Once the difficulty level goes through the roof the fun stops. The dialog is funny and the game itself is just weird and funny. The occasional laugh is not enough to make up for the frequent angry groan. The final few missions in the game are incredibly difficult. Hotline Miami was difficult, but at least everyone died in 1 shot. Not a hero is a challenging game that does not give you an even playing field against the enemies it throws at you.
A highly unusual and relaxing adventure that manages to tell the story of a journey without using a single word. The game is stunning and has a very unique visual style to it. The gameplay is simple, yet adequate for the style of game. It is a short experience that is unique and really stands out of other games in a similar genre. The lack of a narrative may turn some people off, but if you can deal with this, it is a game worth playing.
With an incredible level of visual quality, responsive controls and a kick ass lineup of monsters, it's not to have fun. Everything has been executed in a way that brings the original game back to life for a new generation. This reboot could not have been executed any better. The game succeeded in being everything that it should have and was done with such a high level of polish that it was a huge pleasure to play.
Manual Samuel has some enjoyable moments and for the first hour or so, you will really enjoy it. The combat ultimately becomes the games downfall. The great humor, clean visual style or the madness of having to control body functions manually can’t be saved by how terrible the combat is. The game quickly goes from fantastic to frustrating. Although I had a lot of fun at first, I really couldn't recommend this game to anyone.
The 10 hours or so it takes to beat this game will, you will be taken on one of the most enjoyable stories in the Borderlands universe. With plenty of humor and mystery as fuel, you will have no trouble burning through this game and loving every minute. With a cast of fun and interesting characters, your adventure through the barren wasteland of Pandora will be one to remember.
Maize is not without its flaws, but it more than makes up for them with a unique and humorous story. By no means is it the best puzzle game I have ever played, but it is still a good one. This game stands out from other similar games by being funny and so distinctly strange. For the price, it is a game that is well worth picking up if you fancy a quick puzzle game and a few laughs.
The story of the Finch family is not just unique, but it is told so incredibly well that you can't help but get sucked into it. You finish with so many questions you would love to ask the odd people that lived in this unusual house. The game feels a little too short, but every minute of gameplay that is there is an absolute pleasure to experience. What Remains of Edith Finch is a story that really stands out and is one that you will want to experience for yourself.
There is very little to complain about when it comes to this game. The visuals are perfect, the gameplay and controls are solid and the level design is diverse and enjoyable. I wish the game had of tried to take a page out of Zeldas book and shook things up a bit more, but overall it was still a highly enjoyable game that I would recommend to any Switch owner.
Arizona Sunshine is a fun game with some redeeming qualities. While the story is not original, it is fun and enjoyable. The warm desert setting keeps you feeling warm and blowing the heads of every zombie in sight is also a lot of fun. The clunky controls and poor visuals do let this game down quite a bit and make it feel a little more rushed than it should. Issues aside, I still enjoyed playing this game, simply because shooting things in VR is a lot of fun, no matter the quality of the game.
Overall Bandit Six: Combined arms is a fun game that is just lacking in content. It is a lot of fun shooting the turrets and blowing up everything in sight. It is a shame that there wasn't a little more variety in what you get to shoot, but as a relatively cheap VR game it doesn't feel like you are getting ripped off. If you spot this game for cheap, it is well worth playing. There is fun to be had in this game, just not too much fun.
Accounting+ costs around €10, which is fairly cheap. The game only lasts about an hour which is unfortunately short considering how much fun it is. I was very let down when the game ended because I was having way too much fun. I wouldn't normally suggest that anyone pay €10 for a 1-hour game, but this is definitely an exception. If you like humour that is rude and offensive, then you will like this game. If you are new to VR then you most definitely need to pick this up and make sure you play it with 2 move controllers.
I can quite happily say that Call of Duty WWII is the best COD game that I have played in terms of the single-player experience. I wish it had of been a little longer, but It is not as short as some games in the past. The multiplayer is also a lot of fun, but if you have been playing Modern Warfare Remastered, you might not find you want to jump ship. For those thinking that there are no good zombie game modes that Treyarch did not create, you will be delightfully proven wrong with this game. As a complete package, COD WWII is one of the best games in the series and is one of the best WWII shooters that I have ever played. If you are sick to death of crazy sci-fi shooters, like I am, this game is worth every single penny!
The New Colossus does not contain any multiplayer game mode. I have spoken about how I would like to see it return in the past, but for the moment the single player experience in this game was so well polished that you get your money's worth. At the same time, I was sad to have finished the game as I didn't want it to end. Normally I would replay the game on hard to get any trophies, but since the difficulty in this game was ridiculous, I will not be putting myself through the anger of attempting it. It is a shame the difficulty was so screwed up in this as it was a big issue for me. Yea there are stealth mechanics, but the enemies spot you too easily and to make it worse, the game does a bad job at telling you which enemies are even shooting you when there is a big battle going on.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole is a brilliant game that fans if the TV show will definitely enjoy. It has everything that makes the TV show so enjoyable. As a game, it could do with being a little more difficult with a larger map, but those minor complaints are outweighed by almost every other aspect of the game. The Fractured But Whole is a prime example of how a TV show can be effectively turned into a video game. There have been many attempts at South Park games over the years and this one is definitely one of the best. If you played the first or are a big fan of the show, you need to pick this game up.
