People always say that there is no such thing a perfect score, but Uncharted 4 deserves nothing short of a full 10/10. The game is completely flawless. There are always going to be opinions that vary, but when it comes down to faulting Uncharted 4, there is nothing you can say. So much care and attention has been put into making this game absolutely perfect. It is very clear to see that not a single corner has been cut with the development of this game. The standard of quality is incredibly high and consistent from start to finish. I have never given a game a 10/10 before and I am generally quite the nit picker when it comes to game reviews, but i don't think i can pick out a single thing to fault about Uncharted 4. The game is just perfect.

The wait for Breath of the Wild to release was a long one but turned out to be worth every minute. The transition to an open world experience turned out to be one of the best moves the series could have made. Exploring Hyrule is such an incredibly rewarding experience. The funny little side quests to the loot-filled dungeons. There will always be a secret of some kind to find when you are exploring. The story is the same as always but somehow feels fresh. Building up the strength to face Gannon is one of the best adventures you will ever experience in a video game.

Horizon: Forbidden West delivers everything that made the first game unforgettable and then piles on so much more. Character realism and environmental detail have been turned all the way to eleven. Every single element of this game has been crafted by perfectionists. Fighting off hordes of high tech machines keeps your heart pumping and the hugely diverse spectrum of machines to take down make you put a lot of effort into fine-tuning your approach to combat. The narrative lays down a perfect sense of urgency that drives you through a 20+ hour campaign that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Horizon: Forbidden West has raised the bar for the PlayStation 5 and is an adventure you won't forget.

9.5 / 10.0 - God of War
May 18, 2018

The jump to Norse mythology was a bold change that has paid off. The new gods and new setting really shake things up. The changes to the combat system are a little clunky at first, but you get the hang of them after a while. The switch of focus from Kratos mindlessly killing everything to a relationship between a man and his son is a new step for the franchise and is the most enjoyable part of the game. From start to finish, you will find more and more things that impress you about this game. Everything is built to perfection. Whether you like this kind of game or not, there no denying that God of War is a beautiful masterpiece.

It's hard to think of where Ellie's story could go having played the first game. Once you get stuck in, you're going to take an emotional beating. The 25-hour long story is massive and it cuts absolutely no corners. The story just keeps giving and giving. The stealth and combat will get your blood pumping and give you some moments you will not forget. When it comes to value for money, you aren't going to get a game that is more worthy of a purchase.

9.5 / 10.0 - Deathloop
Sep 22, 2021

Deathloop delivers a tense and exciting story from start to finish. Layers upon layers of complex and polished narrative elements build a juggernaut of storytelling perfection. With all of this built on top of solid gun controls, simple yet effective stealth mechanics and some pretty wacky special powers you have a game that delivers everything it should in all areas.

Spiderman 2 for the PlayStation 5 emerges as a spectacular leap in the superhero gaming genre, intertwining the fates of Miles Morales and Peter Parker in a narratively rich and visually stunning rendition of New York City. While it majestically flaunts the capabilities of next-gen gaming with its seamless, detailed, and immersive environment, it slightly entangles itself in a web of excessive player guidance, notably in puzzle-solving and navigation, somewhat stifling the satisfaction derived from natural discovery and challenge. Despite this, with its robust storyline, impeccable world-building, and tactically diverse combat system, Spiderman 2 gracefully swings into the gaming spotlight, providing an engrossing and largely triumphant experience for ardent fans and casual gamers alike.

9 / 10.0 - White Night
Aug 21, 2017

White Night is a simple, scary ghost story and it’s absolutely fantastic. Horror stories have lost their way over the years, White Night takes a simple approach to a classic idea and it works perfectly. The game has a real charm that I have not found in another game for quite some time. It’s ascetically pleasing which enhances the experience so much. Whether you like horror games or not, I highly suggest you face the fear and play this game. It’s a welcome break from the norm and is such an enjoyable treat to play.

As far as DLC goes, First Light is a fantastic piece of work. If you enjoyed Second Son then this game is a must buy. The experience is short, but overall I was very happy with the purchase. With such a big shortage of good quality games on the consoles at the moment, First Light is a welcome addition to the games library.

9 / 10.0 - Doom
Apr 17, 2018

With an incredible level of visual quality, responsive controls and a kick ass lineup of monsters, it's not to have fun. Everything has been executed in a way that brings the original game back to life for a new generation. This reboot could not have been executed any better. The game succeeded in being everything that it should have and was done with such a high level of polish that it was a huge pleasure to play.

For me this game was a massively unexpected experience that I have a long bus journey to thank. I absolutely loved Virtues Last Reward and I would say that you should not judge this book by it's cover. Virtues Last Reward is an amazing puzzle game that has an incredible story that really sucked me in. I found it hard to put the Vita down as I really wanted to know what was going to happen next.

The story of the Finch family is not just unique, but it is told so incredibly well that you can't help but get sucked into it. You finish with so many questions you would love to ask the odd people that lived in this unusual house. The game feels a little too short, but every minute of gameplay that is there is an absolute pleasure to experience. What Remains of Edith Finch is a story that really stands out and is one that you will want to experience for yourself.

9 / 10.0 - Destiny 2
Oct 19, 2017

Destiny 2 is an incredibly sturdy game. It is very clear that It was built by a talented and experienced team who put a lot of effort into making sure the quality was high. Blasting through caves full of robots with your friends is a hell of a lot of fun. There is a lot to make you want to come back to the game. You will find yourself sinking many hours into this game and not even realising it. The push to always find better loot becomes an addiction. The content shortage is a bit of a downer, but this will improve over time as more DLC is released to expand the variety of quests that we can play. For the moment, the core game has quite a lot to keep you going and give you more than your moneys worth of entertainment. It isn't often we see a game launch with this level of quality. Bungie has really outdone themselves with this game. If you have any doubts about purchasing this game, don't! This game is worth every penny and is a lot of fun to play, you won't regret purchasing it.

Uncharted : The Lost Legacy is a really enjoyable game that continues with the successful formula we have come to know from previous Uncharted games. Overall the game is not as good as Uncharted 4, but it is still an absolutely brilliant game. The visuals are some of the best I have ever seen, the story is enjoyable and just about everything else is finished with such a high level of polish that you will be in awe of the game from start to finish. Nathan Drake set the bar very high and I was delighted that Chloe was able to fill his shoes. At a discounted price, you still get good value for money with this title, but it still left me wanting more, maily because it was so good! I would really love to see Chole make a comeback in the future as there is a lot of adventures left for her to play out.

There is very little to complain about when it comes to this game. The visuals are perfect, the gameplay and controls are solid and the level design is diverse and enjoyable. I wish the game had of tried to take a page out of Zeldas book and shook things up a bit more, but overall it was still a highly enjoyable game that I would recommend to any Switch owner.

A very unique twist on a long running genre has brought some life back into the RTS scene. Building a settlement that is capable of holding off a seemingly endless zombie horde is a very exciting prospect and it has been executed incredibly well with this game. The speed at which you can lose the game will have you on edge and constantly in fear of the zombies. If you loved the classic RTS games and want a game you can sink some hours into, They are Billions is for you.

Lightbearer brings a lot of new ideas to the table and manages to provide a highly humorous and entertaining experience. It was a risk to deviate so far from the original game but it has been executed so well that your laughter will make you love Nick Lightbearer so much that you won’t want it to end. The groovy style & setting combined with all the drug taking will give you a true rollercoaster experience with lots of weird stuff and lots of laughs. DLC often gives us more of the same. With Lightbearer you will get something completely now and highly entertaining.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is exactly what you would have hoped for on the PS5. Beautiful environments with a visual fidelity that would stand up to an animated movie. A massively diverse arsenal of weapons, although disappointingly, no groovitron. The combat is rock solid and it is all wrapped up in a bow with one of the more Hollywood action style stories we have seen in a Ratchet & Clank game. It is a real shame that there is next to nothing to do outside of the main story but it doesn't stop this from being one of the best games in the series and a stellar title to add to the lineup of first-party PS5 exclusives.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves combines Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy into a bundle that makes up the best example of stunning game visuals worthy of a blue ribbon. Everything that made Uncharted 4 perfect has remained unchanged, now with jaw-dropping visuals. It is unfortunate there were no expansions or additional content like we saw with Iki island for Ghost of Tsushima but this is still an incredibly good value for money purchase for owners of the game on PS4 that will keep you going until we see Naughty Dogs first official PS5 release.

God of War Ragnarock paints a more authentic vision of Norse mythology that really sets it apart from the more glamorous portrayals we are familiar with. The subtle ways Kratos tries to "be better" combine to form an enlightening evolution of a man that was once nothing more than an instrument of war. Unfortunately, the combat is not nearly as flawless as the story with aspects such as dodging and switching weapons lacking responsiveness. This is not the next-gen experience you might be waiting for but it doesn't stop it from being one of the most impressive games in the series and a satisfying conclusion to the Norse saga.
