I had a blast doing this MK11 review, a game I really enjoyed. Yes, there are some issues with the game being on the grinding side and I do hope work on these continue with patches incoming all the time. But with an epic story, with choices and different options to make you go back for more. Loads of towers and great online play. Plus, really deep character customisations and options. Mortal Kombat 11 packs quite the punch in terms of content.
All in all Call of Cthulhu is a fun horror game based in a unique world. The gameplay is straightforward and admittedly repetitive. However, the atmosphere, story and setting make up for this.
Immortal Unchained is really a mess of a game. It has some good points and bad points. I really wanted to enjoy it, but it’s clunky controls, repetitive gameplay and mediocre content left me just wanting to forget about the whole experience.
Kero Blaster is a brilliant escape from modern gaming and a worthy purchase. You can revisit the great 8-bit era and enjoy a fun, challenging and humorous game. I really enjoyed reviewing this game.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a great game. The story is slow to start but grips by the end. Claude and Squad E are, for the most part, well-acted and engaging.
Super Mario Party is as much fun as you make it. I have played a lot of online with friends and local with family and it has been a hoot.
Moonlighter is a brilliant game. The loop of action and shop-keeping means that every drop from an enemy feels meaningful and it always feels satisfying. I only feel it doesn’t go quite far enough into its Zelda-like features, with the dungeons being a little too easy ultimately.
I already find myself invested in the characters, itching to know what happens next, how this will all be resolved. The episode gets its presentation right from start to finish, with the voice acting being excellent.
Spider-Man is exactly the game I wanted from Insomniac Games when I heard they were making this. It’s stunning, delivers on a spectacular story and gets that web-swinging through the city absolutely perfect. Fans of this legendary character will be happy as will newcomers. A few bugs need to be worked out but the main bug is an outstanding interpretation of the wall-crawler.
To say that this game was everything I hoped is probably an understatement. It is fun, charming, beautiful and is just so easy to pick up and play. But I will say and the only reservation I have with it for most players is the issue of longevity.
Red’s Kingdom is a quirky fun puzzle adventure game that will suit gamers of all ages. It fits the pick and go style of the Nintendo Switch and really suits the handheld mode. I could see myself playing this game on my train commute or during my lunch break. The puzzles are clever and require creative thinking. Just don’t over think them though! The solutions are often very easy!
Unexplored takes the ‘Rogue’ genre and just about utilises it, the game has a dynamic level generation. One that doesn’t really do it any justice as at times the game feels unfair to the player. The experience feels unfinished, poorly implemented with a truckload of bugs. I really wanted to enjoy Unexplored as at its core it’s not a bad game. It just needs a bit of TLC to get it playable.
Everspace is a beautiful, addictive and fun Roguelike shooter. It’s well worth adding to your digital collection and I personally will be heading back out there for more.
Forgotton Anne provides escapism to a dark dystopian realm where you will question your own values in an amazing story-driven experience. The production value and experience is one that highly recommended.
20XX offers a great opportunity to play a game that takes the genre and adds value with the rogue-like game styles and the addition of multiplayer modes. If you enjoy platform action shooting games then 20XX is a great game to experience.
It gets really boring, really fast, and doesn’t give you a reason to keep playing once that feeling sinks in. An empty, bland world and an empty, bland story mean that I can’t recommend this empty, bland game.
