Decarnation certainly has a lot of style with its retro graphics and themes inspired by Silent Hill and works from David Lynch and Junji Ito, however its gameplay leaves a lot to be desired by taking too much on its plate.
Despite some frustrating battles that made me want to quit, Tales of Vogar has an enchanting storyline with a beautiful soundtrack and memorable characters that made the journey worth it.
The Tartarus Key is a brilliant puzzle horror game with challenging puzzles that are great fun to solve. The only downside is the alternative ending which is the easiest to get will cut the game abruptly short.
Miasma Chronicles is a satisfying combination of story and tactical gameplay. With its ambient audio textures and high quality graphics, you’ll find your time quickly taken over by immersive combat.
Liberté has many interesting ideas, and one that with time could become something good, or maybe even great. But for now there's simply too much missing to recommend it.
After Us beats you over the head with paper-thin themes, but between the truly awful platforming and the frustrating level design, it'll be the least of your worries.
Planet of Lana is an exciting adventure with well built puzzles, breathtaking set pieces, a stunning art style, and a score that underlines it all perfectly.
Cassette Beasts manages to iterate on Pokemon in a meaningful way. The fantastic music, A+ monsters designs, and fun characters are only slightly held back by the overly-complex combat.
Bat Boy is a very competent 2D action platformer, and lots of fun can be had with it, even if it's a rather challenging game at times. Sadly, the repeated crashing in one part of it impacted my enjoyment quite a bit.
In a golden age of indie roguelikes, Death or Treat barely manages to eke out a silver lining.
Despite a variety of performance issues, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor presents masterful storytelling, in-depth characters and combat mechanics that deliver thrilling and enjoyable gameplay moments.
While the dungeon crawl, card mechanics, and nice pixel art would’ve been the trifecta to make this game stand out, Dungeon Drafter’s controls and design fail to make it as enjoyable as it should be.
Bramble: The Mountain King is a dark fairy tale done right. It pulls you in with all the whimsy and charm of an enchanted forest, before it disturbs you with the horrors of a wronged soul.
The Last Case of Benedict Fox is a beautiful Lovecraftian Metroidvania, with challenging combat and puzzles, a rich story, and complicated mysteries that truly makes you feel like a detective in a strange world.
Strayed Lights definitely tends to stray from what makes its central mechanic great, but manages to wander its way back to the light, and offer a truly charming time.
Shadows Over Loathing is the hallmark of comedic role playing games, and executed to near perfection. Only a few cumbersome mechanics and game padding holds itself back.
Varney Lake is a wonderful experience that combines visual novels with puzzles, heartwarming nostalgia with chilling terror, all in a classic pixel style.
Advance Wars 1+2 ReBoot Camp delivers fun and difficult strategy missions, but misses some obvious features to be a more considerable improvement on the original.
Mail Time is the type of game you want to curl up with on a cold day. I recommend it to any cozy game enthusiast.
Amanda the Adventurer is a unique and enjoyable horror puzzle game that is worth playing through. It's short and not too challenging but has a strong sense of itself and tells a good story.
