Donkey Kong Country Returns HD offers a fairly straightforward update of the original game: it is simply in HD. That means that all of its best platforming goodness is untouched, but it also means that some of the more frustrating aspects of the game remain as present as before. In that sense, the update is perhaps bare-bones.

Larger in scale but more intimate in story, Dynasty Warriors: Origins brings armies of thousands upon thousands of warriors to battle it out on screen. Battles feel more realistic than ever, while the focus on the early ages of the Three Kingdoms brings a much-needed refreshing view of a well-known story.

With ten chapters and an epilogue, the game is shorter than the anime it is based on, but that ensures that the game remains interesting until the end. Fairy Tail 2 is a must for fans of the series, but also accessible for those who want to get acquainted for the first time.

If you like your JRPG's as traditional as they get, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D delivers on all fronts. It's stunning to look at, but at its core still that same game from 1988 on the NES with a few quality of life improvements.

Life is Strange Double Exposure is worth your time as it'll stir up some deep emotions (especially if you've played the original). Some bugs detract from the overall enjoyment of the adventure as the story is really fun to play through.

Overty ambitious, but marred by glitches and lack of polish, this game borrows many elements from famous games in history with some new ideas. The setting is great, but the scope seems too big for a debut title. Hopefully this isn't the last we've seen from this new universe.

Metaphor ReFantazio is one of the best games of 2024 and everything you'd want in a JRPG. Although the world can be a bit dated at times, this 80 hour epic is a joy throughout thanks to its story, mechanics and characters that shine in combination with one another.

The minigames are fun, the obligations are minimal, and the classic Mario Party feelings of frustration and euphoria quickly surface by the end of each game. Super Mario Party Jamboree delivers that and a few extras with the Expert options, although they could have been a bit more extensive.

The most unnecessary remake of this generation. While the graphics have improved, the controls have not improved at all and feel sluggish. Skip this one and enjoy the much cheaper original version.

The bottom line with EA Sports FC 25 is that the game is more of the same that we’ve had from EA Sports in recent years. Age-old bugs and glitches, weird inconsistencies when it comes to gameplay, and the game still has a complete imbalance between defense and offense.
