Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is the perfect little package if you want to jump into Lara Croft’s boots. Even if you’re a first-time player, you’ll get to experience the grandmother of action-adventure games, and as if in real life, you won’t have guides telling you what you’re looking for, and nothing telling you where to go next.

The Mario Party franchise has always been about fun with friends and family above all else. It keeps things simple but competitive, providing exciting and hilarious moments that will stay with you for years.

Predator: Hunting Grounds will take you back to 1987 if you are like me and were not even alive back then but love the movies. When you launch this title and are sitting on the menu, you get to listen to the main theme from the movie, which was a giant nod and got me keen to launch into the jungle.

8.5 / 10.0 - KILL KNIGHT
Oct 20, 2024

Kill Knight is a constant struggle for survival that delivers more carnage than you can poke a stick at. PlaySide has delivered a challenge I haven’t been this addicted to overcome in such a long time.

Undisputed has filled that void super well with a great roster of fighters to sink your teeth into and who knows I might see you in an online match soon and you never know you might be the next Undisputed.

9 / 10.0 - Neva
Oct 15, 2024

Nomada Studio, creators of one of my fave indie titles ‘GRIS’, brings you their newest creation, ‘Neva’. Similar to the stylings of anime, ‘Princess Mononoke’, this 2D platformer is an epic adventure of a girl and her wolf. With it, they answer the age-old gamer question… “Can I pat the dog?” The answer is a profound YES.

7 / 10.0 - Dead Season
Oct 12, 2024

‘Dead Season’, brought to you by solo-developers ‘Snail Bite’ and ‘Iceberg Interactive’, is an old-school turn-based zombie game that will have you on the edge of your seat as you use your strategic skills to make it through the endless hordes of zombies.

It’s been a long time coming for the next Budokai Tenkaichi game. Even with a name change to match the Japanese title, it has everything that fans of the series love and more.

Starfield did not entice me to stay as long as any of my beloved favourite Bethesda titles. So after a year, I have hopes that some spit and polish has been put into their new expansive DLC, ‘Starfield: Shattered Space’ to light a fire under my ass to get back into it.

The Looney Tunes franchise has everything it needs to be a fun and entertaining sports game. Longtime fans will appreciate the current voice cast reprising their roles, but the lasting appeal for the game just isn’t there. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and more have appeared in various sports-themed games in almost every console generation, but Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports is not one of the better examples. That’s all folks!

They’re always saying presentation is everything and that is not forgotten about, EA has made some great little additions to this year’s title with how it’s presented and obviously how the game handles.

This expansion is incredibly good. It is so good, that I think the narrative is much more polished and intriguing than the base game’s ever was. It is so visually impressive with some captivating end-game scenes and bosses that I couldn’t get enough of it.

The Karate Kid franchise has all the elements required to make a fun game, but The Karate Kid: Street Rumble falls short of the fun factor. It looks fantastic, but is an average beat ‘em up game, at best, it takes around 2 to 3 hours to complete, so it severely lacks substance. The genre is filled with better alternatives, particularly with beat ’em ups being increasing in popularity over the last few years. The Karate Kid: Street Rumble aims to land the perfect crane kick, but it’s taken out by a cheap leg sweep.

The original release of Disney Epic Mickey on the Nintendo Wii had so much potential, but it was severely held back by the limitations of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed fixes all those issues and is exactly what that original game should’ve been. With over 12 hours of playtime and a fresh coat of paint, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is an absolute must-play for fans of the legendary face of Disney.

7.5 / 10.0 - Copycat

I love a gaming experience with a side of tear-jerking emotion. In saying that, by opening with the disclaimer of touching on hard topics, I knew ‘Copycat’, by Indie Australian developer, Spoonful Of Wonder, was going to be an interesting ride.

Much like most civilisation-building games, there is a tactical side to it too. You will, at times, be invaded or need to smoose with other nations to form allyships. Will you sacrifice precious resources with them to become friends, or will you raise a mighty army and charge in? History is up to you.

9 / 10.0 - EA Sports FC 25
Sep 21, 2024

I know they say it every year, but EA Sports FC 25 is the best release yet, by a long shot. I love jumping into these titles each year, and I’ve been able to watch the games evolve over time.

9.5 / 10.0 - The Plucky Squire
Sep 18, 2024

“Books aren’t video games,” and you’d normally be right, but in the case of this title, developed by All Possible Futures and published by Devolver Digital, all the naysayers are proven wrong. This vibrant, heartwarming jaunt is unlike any other, and just like the book, this game is called The Plucky Squire.
