Critic Reviews for Tales of Xillia Remastered
So, while there are elements of Tales of Xillia that don't quite measure up to today's standards, the core adventure remains rock solid, and the remaster brings some welcome additions and extras to the table. This PS3 RPG deserved a good re-release, and it's got one.
Tales of Xillia Remastered is an excellent remaster of a darn solid and enjoyable JRPG. While it doesn't quite reach the highest highs of other games in the franchise, neither does it reach the lowest lows. It's a solid, enjoyable and well-crafted JRPG from start to finish, and the remastered version of the game is the best way to experience it. Even if the combat doesn't shine quite as brightly as in Tales of Graces f, the entire package is arguably one of the best ways to experience Tales at its most consistently fun.
Tales of Xillia Remastered is a well-deserved second chance. This is a very traditional JRPG that, while not groundbreaking within the genre, is one of the most beloved in the Tales of series. This is the best way to enjoy it, thanks to its improved graphics and extensive quality-of-life options that allow you to customize the experience to the max.

A solid and smooth port of a defining JRPG, Tales of Xillia Remastered delivers an enjoyable experience with its engaging co-op battle system and thoughtful quality-of-life improvements. The charming cast and vibrant world remain as captivating as ever, but the dated user interface and a handful of minor bugs hold it back from feeling truly modern.
After playing Tales of Xillia Remastered for hours, it’s clear that Bandai Namco didn’t try to make a new game. Instead, they wanted to remind people of what made the first game so good. As a result, the game has a charm that feels timeless, and the carefully made changes enhance it rather than detract from it.
Overall, Tales of Xillia is still a worthy JRPG all of these years later, and fans really shouldn't sleep on it. The battle system alone is what carries this title, but the great cast of characters doesn't hurt either.
Tales of Xillia Remastered takes you on a rich, fun, and emotionally charged journey through the world of Reza Maxia, whether you're playing it for the first time or going back to an old favorite.
