So, while there are elements of Tales of Xillia that don't quite measure up to today's standards, the core adventure remains rock solid, and the remaster brings some welcome additions and extras to the table. This PS3 RPG deserved a good re-release, and it's got one.

If you're not in a hurry to explore the world of Rieze Maxia, wait for a sale or look for other games in the series like Tales of Vesperia or Tales of Arise.

Tales of Xillia Remastered is an excellent remaster of a darn solid and enjoyable JRPG. While it doesn't quite reach the highest highs of other games in the franchise, neither does it reach the lowest lows. It's a solid, enjoyable and well-crafted JRPG from start to finish, and the remastered version of the game is the best way to experience it. Even if the combat doesn't shine quite as brightly as in Tales of Graces f, the entire package is arguably one of the best ways to experience Tales at its most consistently fun.
Tales of Xillia Remastered is a well-deserved second chance. This is a very traditional JRPG that, while not groundbreaking within the genre, is one of the most beloved in the Tales of series. This is the best way to enjoy it, thanks to its improved graphics and extensive quality-of-life options that allow you to customize the experience to the max.

Tales of Xillia Remastered is one of my personal favourite Tales games so if you're a fellow fan, this version contains plenty of quality of life upgrades that definitely make it worth getting so you can spend even more time with Milla and Jude. ⚔️
Overall, Tales of Xillia Remastered is a really enjoyable experience. If you haven't played the Tales of games before but are interested in them, Xillia is a great place to start, as it's story and mechanics are so fluid.

If you missed it the first time, this remaster is a great way to experience it. If you played it on PS3, the improvements make it worth revisiting. Tales of Xillia was a standout in 2013, and on PS5 it proves that good characters and good ideas never really get old.
Tales of Xillia Remastered shows just how well this adventure has held up over the years, especially with its modern polish and convenient quality of life upgrades that make it better than ever to play. The slick visuals and energetic combat make revisiting Rieze Maxia feel better than ever, whilst the lively cast and enjoyable storytelling ensure you’ll be hooked in right until the very end. Sure, a few dated elements and pacing dips still peek through, but they never outweigh all of the things that Tales of Xillia Remastered gets right.
