Assassin's Creed Shadows is a visual masterpiece, offering the best stealth and parkour elements of any RPG in the series, keeping it true to its roots. However, the game fails to deliver a solid story or a rich open world, making the Japan experience that gamers have been waiting for years a missed opportunity, even if it's generally decent.

While it's always interesting to see some of the games stuck on older consoles back and re-introduced in modern versions, unfortunately, many of these games show the effects of time in various aspects, and Freedom Wars is one of them. While the gameplay and combat are fun, that's not enough to overcome the game's many drawbacks.

The return of Monster Hunter with the Wilds installment is impressive and promising, with improvements and new additions, and as a lifelong fan of the series, I can say that Monster Hunter Wilds brings together the best of what Capcom has to offer in the series. It lives up to and exceeds expectations in many ways, with a beautiful story, a charming world full of new events and objects, an in-depth armor building and customization system. All of these aspects combine to make this the best installment in the series.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black marks the beginning of the series' comeback, and what a comeback it is! The game offers fast and fun combat in the typical Hack and Slash style, this reason alone justifies giving it a try given the lack of games in this genre at the moment, and Black is a good opportunity to experience the game with excellent graphics thanks to Unreal Engine 5, even if there are some lingering issues from the original game.

Avowed is a great new addition to Obsidian's library of rpg games, with a story characterized by political complexity and moral conflicts, varied gameplay, and a large world that encourages exploration. Despite some technical issues and the simplification of some of the game's RPG elements, it's still an enjoyable experience for anyone who loves RPGs

Donkey Kong Country Returns may not be the news that fans of the series have been waiting for after waiting so long for a new game, but it's still a decent entry point for many new players to one of the masterpieces of the platformer genre despite some of the drawbacks of this release

Dynasty Warriors Origins is one of the pleasant surprises of the year, after a very disappointing ninth installment, the series is coming back strong and in the best way possible! The studio took a big step forward with their storytelling, and delivered an excellent tactical fighting style that represents a return to the roots of the series with major improvements and additions, making it the best fighting style in the history of the series! The game may be marred by the character writing style and pacing issues that slightly extend the game's lifespan, but despite these issues, they were not a major hindrance to my enjoyment of the game and put it in a high position among this year's games.

Square Enix returns again this year in another attempt to revitalize some of its old titles and introduce them to a new generation of players in Romancing SaGa 2, and although some aspects of this remake are weak compared to other games in the same category, it manages to succeed in maintaining the original spirit of one of the classic JRPGs.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake may not be the right introduction to the series for new players due to the age of the original game and some of its design decisions compared to the final installment, but it's definitely a love letter to those who grew up with the series at its inception and saw it evolve into one of the most influential games in Japanese history and the JRPG genre.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 could be a strong candidate for the best COD game of all time! It offers the best story mode in the series, great shooting and action, excellent multiplayer, and a good Zombies mode. The game may be marred by some design decisions, but overall it's an excellent game and one of the best games of the year.

The Mario & Luigi series returns to us after a long absence, this time with a new release called Brothership, in which it presents a lot of interesting and ambitious ideas, but the implementation in some aspects was not implemented in the best possible way, but you will still have a fun journey across the seas with Mario and Luigi, and the game maintains its sense of adventure well.

The LEGO Horizon Adventures game may be a fun and light experience suitable for fans of the Horizon series or the LEGO series in general, by presenting the story of the Zero Dawn part in a comic style through entertaining dialogues, with a very good technical and artistic level, but the gameplay and stage design, although fun at the beginning, the limitations of their ideas do not keep the fun of playing the game until the end of the experience.

Unknown 9: Awakening is a weak game, and further proof that Bandai Namco should focus on the quality of their titles, as the game doesn't offer anything special or impressive, there may be fun moments in the game, but these moments are nothing compared to the badness that covers most aspects of the game

Although the tenth installment of the Ys series was unsatisfying in several aspects, most notably the story, the fun and fast-paced gameplay made Ys X Nordics an enjoyable experience for fans of action JRPGs, even if it wasn't on the same level as the best games in the genre.

Bloober Team managed to bring the game back to life with very nice visual and sound designs, with an excellent overall voice performances for the characters, and facial expressions that were also at a high level and supportive of what the game wants to present in terms of emotions and connection. In addition to various puzzles full of fun and details, the lack of Arabic language is a negative point in the game, especially for the puzzles, with a modest animation that made the experience less immersive. However, the game's support for the DualSense controller was exemplary.
