8.5 / 10.0 - Nioh 3
Feb 4, 2026

Nioh 3 may not fully resolve some of the shortcomings of previous entries in the series, but it reinforces what made the series stand out by delivering a vibrant, content-rich semi-open world, excellent enemy and boss variety, and outstanding gameplay that continues to evolve as you progress, establishing a solid foundation for the series in the future

7.5 / 10.0 - Kirby Air Riders
Jan 24, 2026

Kirby Air Riders might not be the best game in Masahiro Sakurai’s career, especially when compared to his groundbreaking work on Super Smash Bros. Nevertheless, it remains a unique and exceptional title in his extensive portfolio, and a rare arcade-style racing experience in today’s gaming market.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment stands as a fitting finale to this era of Zelda games. It successfully connects with the events of Tears of the Kingdom and delivers a fully cinematic narrative that the series has been missing for a long time. That, combined with Koei Tecmo’s experience with the Musou genre, resulted in one of the best releases on the Nintendo Switch 2 in its first year.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 delivers a mixed bag across its various modes. While it succeeds in presenting a distinctive story and a fresh, innovative gameplay approach, it falls short in other areas, such as reusing older maps in the campaign and failing to effectively present certain moments in the story. However, the game still has room to improve over time, especially following the addition of the Endgame mode to the campaign, which could enable future seasonal story expansions.

Tales of Xillia may not be the best entry in the Tales series, but it does not necessarily need to be that. It still delivers a charming JRPG experience with its own unique identity, along with an engaging story and a strong cast of characters, as expected from the series. In doing so, Bandai Namco continues its successful efforts to reintroduce classic entries through welcome and meaningful improvements, with the hope that this project will bring more Tales titles to modern platforms.

8.5 / 10.0 - Frostpunk 2
Nov 18, 2025

Frostpunk 2 is more than just a sequel—it’s a fresh take on surviving under tough political, social, and economic challenges. The game adds new gameplay systems and increases the difficulty in smart ways, but it loses some of the moral depth that made the first game special. Even though the console controls can be tricky, the game is worth playing, especially for those who enjoy strategy games that force you to make real choices and test both your conscience and leadership skills.

Pokémon Legends Z/A pushes the series forward in some ways, but takes several steps back in others. It offers a solid story and a memorable cast, yet its weak exploration and limited regions feel like a noticeable downgrade from the previous game. The combat system brings fresh and creative ideas, but it’s still far from polished or fully realized. Overall, the game delivers a fun Pokémon experience, but not the major evolution fans hoped for as the opening title of the Nintendo Switch 2 era.

8.5 / 10.0 - Battlefield 6
Nov 12, 2025

Battlefield 6 marks a powerful and impressive comeback for the iconic series, thanks to its almost perfect multiplayer experience. The game offers fluid gameplay, improved shooting mechanics, and a wide variety of weapons and modes. Its technical performance is solid, and the dynamic destruction of vehicles and buildings adds realism and intensity to the combat. While the story mode is underwhelming, the game makes up for it with a cohesive multiplayer experience that satisfies long-time fans and restores the series’ distinctive combat identity.

8 / 10.0 - EA Sports FC 26
Nov 5, 2025

EA FC 26 feels like a fresh start for the series this generation. After years of disappointments—especially last year’s disaster—EA is finally listening to players, introducing meaningful gameplay improvements, and adding new features to almost every mode. Still, it continues to suffer from menu and server issues, and its main mode remains dependent on a pay-to-win system.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger isn’t just aimed at longtime fans who have been waiting for a worthy entry in the series, but it's also an excellent entry point for new players. It presents an exciting story with an interesting world and memorable characters. And despite some of the technical issues and other shortcomings, the addictive gameplay is more than enough to immerse you in a distinctive RPG experience that takes the series a significant step forward.

8.5 / 10.0 - The Outer Worlds 2
Oct 23, 2025

The Outer Worlds 2 delivers a rich experience that manages to preserve the core spirit of the first game while pushing it forward with noticeable improvements. The story is engaging and cohesive, supported by deep dialogue that is affected by your character build and skills. All of this unfolds within Arcadia, a world that shines both visually and narratively, featuring a beautiful artistic design and vast spaces to explore. While there are a few disappointments—such as the limited interaction with one of the major factions—the game still succeeds in offering a deep, enjoyable RPG experience with a clear identity and a distinct personality. It’s a journey well worth exploring right down to the final moment.

7.5 / 10.0 - Ghost of Yotei
Oct 23, 2025

Ghost of Yotei follows the same formula of most PlayStation sequels: it improves many aspects of the gameplay and the side content, and it ensures that it delivers an impressive visual and audio experience. However, it also offers a weaker story with more issues than its predecessor. And in Yotei's case specifically, the game completely fails at telling an engaging narrative, and by continuing to rely heavily on the same template and approach across most of its elements, it becomes a missed opportunity, despite being an overall enjoyable game.

9 / 10.0 - Ninja Gaiden 4
Oct 21, 2025

After a long absence, Ninja Gaiden finally returns with a new installment that serves as the perfect finale to the “Year of the Ninja.” This time, it features two protagonists: the main hero Yakumu, accompanied by Ryu Hayabusa. Together, they deliver a truly impressive combat experience. Although the story and visuals have a few minor issues, Ninja Gaiden 4 still bursts with excitement, action, and brutal combat.

8.5 / 10.0 - Keeper
Oct 17, 2025

Keeper is one of the most distinctive experiences of the year, and one of Double Fine's most beautiful games. It delivers a unique narrative with simple yet refreshing gameplay ideas, full of pleasant surprises, making it a very enjoyable experience for a game built around simple adventure and puzzle elements. This is further elevated by the gorgeous art direction, which was unquestionably one of the game's strongest aspects.

Little Nightmares returns with a third installment, developed by a different studio, one that succeeds in delivering the familiar strong foundations of this world, which include the strong sense of mystery and the high-quality visual and audio design. However, the game is held back by the addition of co-op play, which negatively impacts the single-player experience, as well as the poor utilization of the new gameplay elements.

Dying Light: The Beast is enjoyable; it builds on the same foundation introduced in the second game, with slight improvements to the movement that naturally made the parkour more enjoyable, in addition to the excellent combat and strong weapon variety. However, these strengths were met with a messy story and strange design choices that diminished the game's solid foundation.

5.5 / 10.0 - Lost Soul Aside
Oct 1, 2025

Not every game we wait for lives up to our expectations when it finally releases. Although Lost Soul Aside offers solid gameplay, it fails in almost everything else. Whether it's the dull story, the forgettable characters, the weak dialogue writing, or even the voice acting and the cinematics that simply don’t measure up for a game at this price. Combined with the flimsy level design and the shallow puzzles, the end product is unfortunately flawed and far removed from what the early trailers showed and promised.

8.5 / 10.0 - Borderlands 4
Sep 23, 2025

Borderlands 4 delivered a rich experience that blends the series' usual chaos with clever innovation. The planet Kairos stands out with its diverse environments and dynamic interactions, with gameplay supported by new movement mechanics that encourage exploration and open up innovative encounters. Weapons offer great variety with the new licensed parts system, while new skills and a massive skill tree add even more depth to character customization. The post-end content is very good for a start, including many challenges and intense boss encounters. Despite some technical issues and inconsistencies in the quality of some weapon companies, this installment remains a mature and ambitious step in the series' trajectory, offering content that is worth experiencing for Borderlands fans.

8 / 10.0 - Silent Hill f
Sep 22, 2025

Silent Hill has returned with a completely new installment, set in a Japanese town with a story whose protagonist is a teenage girl who has suffered in her life, and the outcome has been wonderful. It is a story full of deep messages, in a world filled with beauty hard to see in any other game, along with an overall amazing gameplay, supported by finely detailed audio design. However, because of the repetition and the dragging of the combat encounters, and the lack of Arabic language support (which is essential for understanding the game and solving puzzles), the game unfortunately did not achieve the level of excellence it aspired to. These problems, alongside certain shortcomings that negatively impacted the otherwise strong core gameplay.

Although Hollow Knight: Silksong is not a perfect experience, and its flaws could have been easily avoided, it remains a great experience and a successful sequel to one of the most amazing indie games. Most aspects of the combat style and level design have evolved significantly, demonstrating the maturity of Team Cherry, which has preserved and even surpassed the great visual and audio experience of the first installment. So if you want a challenging Metroidvania experience packed with content, Silksong will definitely not disappoint.
