BioWare is a pioneer of RPGs with strong characterization, but here they showed just how far it's possible to falter. If you're looking for the classic they're famous for, you won't find that experience in Dragon Age Veilguard. While it's no longer the same team from the days of the original Mass Effect and Dragon Age, this game is a flop that tarnishes the brand's reputation. Veilguard is at best a missed opportunity, and at worst a sign of the fall of a giant.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is undoubtedly one of the best remasters, unreservedly throwing new players into challenges remembered only by older generations of gamers. It certainly feels like a fine nostalgic blow to the wallet or a tool for veteran gamers to educate their protégés, proudly saying, "This is how we played back in my day," while kids tease them for being ancient relics or for building the pyramids Lara Croft explores.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 isn’t perfect. Treyarch has introduced a range of new mechanics that refresh the gameplay but also bring balance issues and frustrating map designs. The campaign is a bit too chaotic to be truly memorable, while the Zombies mode this time tries to appeal to a broader audience. Still, fans of the franchise will spend hours mastering Omnimovement and cursing the spawning system—just as we’ve come to expect from Call of Duty. In a word—exactly what we anticipated!

Sonic x Shadow Generations isn’t the ultimate Sonic game, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction, potentially restoring faith in the Sonic franchise, which has been grappling with an identity crisis for the past fifteen years. What’s on your screen isn’t just another remaster of a 13-year-old game but a completely new chapter in the story of one of the most intriguing characters in this universe. It’s a multi-hour adventure that justifies the purchase and takes you back to nostalgic times.

8.5 / 10.0 - Red Dead Redemption
Nov 3, 2024

Looking at the big picture, Red Dead Redemption has received a high-quality PC port that, aside from its steep price, leaves little to criticize. The game remains engaging and is well worth trying if you’ve never experienced this title on a console before.

A below-average linear action-adventure that fails to deliver the full potential of its storyline due to an excessive focus on repetitive combat and numerous plot twists crammed into a short but tiresome campaign. Technically underwhelming and overpriced at launch.

Until Dawn Remake offers a refreshed and enhanced version of the famous horror adventure, with improved graphics, a new camera system, and additional accessibility options. However, with minimal changes to the story and limited extra content, this remake feels like it hasn’t fully capitalized on the potential for innovation. A major drawback is the inability to upgrade if you own the original version—you’ll need to buy the new one at full price. If you haven't experienced the mountain horror of the original, this version is definitely worth recommending. But can I recommend it to fans who played the original nine years ago? That’s up to you, but don’t expect a revolutionary experience.

Metaphor: ReFantazio might have some issues with difficulty, but it’s still one of the best turn-based JRPGs we’ve played this year. If you miss the classic Square Enix (SquareSoft) games, Atlus is here to quench your thirst. Just don’t forget to adjust the difficulty, and you’ll have a great time.

6 / 10.0 - Undisputed
Oct 19, 2024

Undisputed is a solid attempt to bring boxing games back into the spotlight, but it’s far from becoming a fan favorite. The game features decent graphics, a good combat system, and detailed fighter styles, but it’s weighed down by technical issues and a static career mode. While I believe it has the potential to become a top-tier boxing simulation, it currently feels like a game that needs a few more serious rounds of testing before it’s truly ready for release. If you’re a boxing fan, it’s worth checking out, but be prepared for some frustrations along the way.

9 / 10.0 - Silent Hill 2
Oct 15, 2024

Silent Hill 2 is an almost perfect game, now even more enhanced after two decades, but it might be a tough pill to swallow for modern gamers. With its old-school execution and design faithful to the original, it’s hard to call the game ideal by today’s standards. However, when the original was released, it defined perfect survival horror—a quality you’ll find in the remake as well, but only if you know where to look.

7.5 / 10.0 - EA Sports FC 25
Oct 8, 2024

EA FC 25 is definitely a step in the right direction for the franchise, and it’s clear that EA genuinely wants to create the best football simulation in the world. However, Ultimate Team remains the centerpiece game mode, and year after year, it stays largely unchanged.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a surprisingly fun twist on traditional Zelda games. While it might lack a bit of the franchise’s usual magic, this adventure featuring Princess Zelda is definitely one not to miss, especially if you’re a fan of the series.

All things considered, this is a phenomenal DBZ game that has delivered everything fans have been hoping for. There’s no doubt it’s something we’ve been waiting for years and will be sinking countless hours into in the coming months. For those who aren’t immersed in the DBZ world and approach it as fans of fighting games, they’ll likely still enjoy it, though not to the same extent as us fanatics. One additional inventive mode is notably missing to complete the puzzle and deliver the final punch, but what we have is nearly perfect for this type of game and the material it represents.

5 / 10.0 - Funko Fusion
Sep 29, 2024

Funko Fusion is a perfect example of a game that had exceptional potential for the geek world but ended up as shovelware with a notable lack of creativity. Alongside a few other misses, it could easily serve as a case study for what not to do in the game development world.

7 / 10.0 - Visions of Mana
Sep 23, 2024

Visions of Mana is an attempt to modernize classic JRPGs that somehow does everything right but lacks the originality to blow you away and earn a spot in the hall of fame. Instead, it becomes a typical JRPG that doesn’t have any major flaws but is likely to fade into obscurity rather quickly.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown marks the return of the series, aiming to revive its old charm, but ultimately leaves an impression of incompleteness. While the game offers a rich selection of cars, intriguing concepts like clans, and a sprawling Hong Kong map, many elements feel outdated or technically unfinished. The graphics, while impressive in showroom settings, lose their luster on the open roads, and the races are too arcadey and short to sustain long-term interest. For die-hard fans of the series, the game might deliver a solid experience, but for those seeking more from an open-world racing game, Solar Crown could end up being more frustrating than fun.

10 / 10.0 - Astro Bot
Sep 11, 2024

Astro Bot reminded me not only of how much I love 3D platformers but also of how much I love PlayStation—and video games in general. From start to finish, the little robot kept me glued to my PS5 and wouldn’t let go. If you own a PlayStation 5, no matter your age, I highly recommend getting this game immediately. Play it, laugh, and have fun, because there are very few games like this in today’s gaming industry.

8.5 / 10.0 - Black Myth: Wukong
Aug 30, 2024

Overall, Black Myth: Wukong is a very high-quality game that can be enjoyed even if you're not a fan of Souls-like titles. While it sometimes has uneven quality, it still feels like one of the best games of the year and will only improve over time.

Star Wars Outlaws is a highly produced, quality open-world RPG with stunning graphics, perfectly simulating the life of an outlaw in this vast universe. It takes about twenty hours to explore, or even double that if you want to delve into every corner of the galaxy. The game introduces original characters and a fresh story, with the most impressive feature being the innovative reputation system integrated into the gameplay mechanics—a true breath of fresh air for the genre. Ubisoft has proven to fans that a great Star Wars game doesn’t need Jedi, the Force, or lightsaber duels. We’re looking forward to an even more spectacular sequel in the years to come!
