The sequel to Ghost of Tsushima refines the original formula and invites us to star in a raw story marked by equal parts beauty and revenge. I don't know if Sucker Punch is thinking about a third installment, but if they decide to make it, I would have no objections to immersing myself in medieval Japan once again. I recommend it wholeheartedly, especially if you enjoy games with a strong emphasis on narrative.

Magic Pockets invites us to discover Buichi Terasawa's classic with an action platformer that, despite its flaws, manages to entertain and amuse in equal measure. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys action platformers and 80s humor. Cobra and Lady deserve a chance.

Fallen City Studio's beat 'em up celebrates the great pillars of the genre with a simple and fun proposal, but it suffers from a lack of variety and overall quality. The big difference with the classics of yesteryear is that it didn't leave me wanting to play again. I was left with the impression that it is unfinished and still in development. However, it's not easy to recommend with so much (and such good) competition out there.

Ultizero Games brings us Lost Soul Aside, an action game with a strong narrative focus that, despite showing great potential, stumbles over all the clichés of the genre. If the gameplay had the frenetic pace that the cutscenes suggest, all this would be anecdotal. I hope Ultizero Games has the opportunity to create another game within this universe and take advantage of its creative potential.

Earthion is the new shoot 'em up from Ancient Corporation that takes us back to the days of the Mega Drive, reminding us that there are genres and consoles that age like fine wine. An atypical gem that arrives too late to be considered a classic of the past, but which has everything it takes to sit at the table with the greats of the genre.

Sam Porter Bridges returns in Death Stranding 2, a more spectacular, ambitious, and accessible adventure that makes it clear that Hideo Kojima continues to live up to his own legend. It's a fantastic title that offers action and infiltration as only Hideo Kojima knows how, but also drama and tension. And not just from the script, but when a snowstorm or thunderstorm breaks out in the middle of a delivery. The level of immersion is overwhelming, the hours fly by, and it invites you to keep playing.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, has revolutionized the genre, taking a community accustomed to ongoing sagas by surprise. Sandfall Interactive has created a brilliant video game, one that has achieved masterpiece status. There is no other turn-based RPG today that offers a similar experience, and few can match this instant classic. I am convinced that it is the best game of 2025 and that, in a few years' time, we will see its true impact on the genre.

Migami Games proves why they should be considered an authority when it comes to making Metroidvania games with Chronicles of the Wolf, a highly polished and utterly captivating game. It has an entertaining story, engaging gameplay, and challenging progression. The technical aspects evoke the great classics, with a large number of bosses, attack patterns to learn, and high-quality design. Without a doubt, this is a game that every fan of the genre should play right now.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, Capcom's classic that combines horror and Japanese mythology, returns with a new installment that keeps alive an experience with more than 20 years behind it. A remaster that updates just enough to let the original work shine on its own. And boy, does it shine! I celebrate this release and hope they continue to adapt the two remaining installments, especially the spectacular Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams.

Wings of Endless, the action RPG from Uruguayan studio Isoca Games, offers a blend of action, exploration, and nostalgia that fans of the genre won't want to miss. It's true that it suffers from some balance issues, perhaps due to its humble origins. However, it's a fun and refreshing option that I can confidently recommend to any player looking for a 2D action adventure or wanting a game like those of yesteryear.

Bend Studio's post-apocalypse gets a second chance to shine thanks to Days Gone Remastered, a version that does enough to enhance the enjoyment of the game. It has some of the most hateful and horrifying characters I've ever seen. And no, I'm not talking about the Freakers, but the humans who survived the ‘end of the world’. Behind some trite and somewhat exaggerated dialogue lies an interesting critique of the social fabric, the concept of good and evil, and, in particular, the ‘every man for himself’ mentality that feels more relevant today than ever. Days Gone never set out to change the history of video games, but rather to offer a good story and a fun world to explore.

Sacre Bleu, the platformer from Hildring Studio, surprises with a fresh and agile proposal that stands out both for its polished gameplay and for its ability to slow down time at any moment. It makes clever use of bullet time, both in combat and in platforming sections, and constantly challenges without becoming overwhelming. I recommend it for those looking for a good challenge and who aren't afraid to get a little frustrated along the way.

South of Midnight, the adventure title from Compulsion Games, offers a fluid experience that uses gameplay as a vehicle to tell an emotional and visceral story like few others. It is an enjoyable, relatively short, and thoroughly enjoyable experience that is highly recommended for any type of player. Compulsion Games' work is a breath of fresh air among so many similar releases, and I eagerly await the studio's next project.

Storybird Studio invites us to save the kingdom from a demon invasion in Beyond the Ice Palace 2, a sequel that took more than 35 years to arrive. It can be an exciting and fun experience for those willing to overlook technical issues and accept some artificial difficulty, such as the lack of a checkpoint in certain sections of the game. Undoubtedly, with a little more polish, it could become a great Castlevania-like game.

Avowed is Obsidian's highly anticipated RPG, a fun and immersive title that offers freedom in combat and exploration without neglecting the narrative aspect. Thanks to its captivating story, which unfolds through well-written dialogue and a narrative that always keeps you engaged, it stands out as a great example of the genre. It's a highly recommended experience and proof that Obsidian is still living up to its legacy.

Sunny Syrup Studio surprises with Spirit Mancer, a platformer that offers frenetic combat, a hilarious story and an absolutely delightful pixel art visuals. A title that I can recommend without hesitation, both to lovers of the classics of yesteryear and to modern players who appreciate the magic of handmade pixel art. A little gem not to be overlooked.

The Guerrilla Games franchise jumps to the blocks with LEGO Horizon Adventures, a visually striking title but that does not use the identifying characteristics of this type of adaptations. a technically delicious game with an entertaining story, but that in the gameplay is not up to the level of LEGO or Horizon. In spite of this, I think that the little ones will enjoy it without too many problems, especially if they play with several friends.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered invites us to an epic journey in a post-apocalyptic world more beautiful than ever, perfect for new players, but with no new features for veterans. Those who already have the original, and want to see it in all its splendor, will be able to update it for a small fee. For its part, the remastered version includes the expansion, which offers more than 40 hours of action and adventures. In any case, I don't think an upgrade was necessary. The game remains just as colorful and fun as before.

With Nikoderiko: The Magical World, VEA Games draws attention with a platformer that shows clear nods to the best exponents of the genre, but stands out for its own virtues. Those who enjoy challenges, and are not afraid to repeat levels over and over again until they are perfect, and miss the golden age of Rayman, Crash and Donkey Kong, will find Niko and Luna's adventure a great proposal.

Until Dawn, Supermassive Games' classic looks and feels amazing with a remake that brings it up to modern standards but falls short on interesting additions. Ballistic Moon updates the visuals and brings back the spectacularity of yesteryear, especially in terms of real-time lighting and textures in general, making this the best way to enjoy the title, at least for those who didn't play it in 2015.
