7 / 10.0 - Labyrinth Legend
Jan 13, 2022

Labyrinth Legend is a very simple game with good ideas and fun concepts, it has gotten a surprisingly good soundtrack and memorable boss fights. The adventure has a good amount of content and even a post-game experience with a true secret final boss, but it can get boring very quickly with combat that doesn't change much throughout the game and doesn't leave much room for experimentation as it should.

Miracle Snack Shop was a very delightful surprise, from the outside it may seem like just another date simulator focused on “choosing your favorite waifu”, but in the inside it tells two very well-developed love stories, with very relatable situations that convey very relevant messages about responsibility, happiness and love. The only issue with its narrative being that it doesn’t really come close to giving Mira the same attention that Philia had, sometimes making it seem like she’s just a second thought in the story. And the sales management system, despite being very simple, was enough to give a good change of pace to the constant reading, it greatly encourages you to plan how to use your resources. Deinitely check it out if you enjoy visual novels and/or dating sims.

Pups & Purrs Animal Hospital is a good enough veterinary simulator with a very cute presentation, even though it makes the player wait way more than they should between treatment steps. It has some fun minigames where we take care of cute pets, and an addictive gameplay loop, especially when you don't want to think too much when playing. However, it fails at several moments when it tries to be something different than this, it has some boring relationship system, and a fine, but meaningless customization. If you're a big fan of veterinarians and animals, it's worth checking out the game and its cute animals, but if what interested you was the relationship and customization aspects, it might be better to look for other options.

WarioWare: Get it Together! is a great return to the franchise and also a great addition to the Nintendo Switch's First Parties catalog, accompanied by a good OST, and creative or simply bizarre visuals at the same time. The game brings a great and addictive experience, especially if played with a friend, although alone it can end up being repetitive easily if you don't like the style of the microgames in the main mode.

8.5 / 10.0 - Spelunky 2
Sep 18, 2021

Spelunky 2 expands on everything the first one did, it has more content, visible gameplay improvements, more mechanics, and most importantly, still a lot of frustrating moments, with even more sudden and instant deaths that can bother the player more than before, and even make the experience a little more repetitive with obstacles that seem to repeat themselves quite a lot in some levels. But it is still an excellent rogue-like, and a great sequel to everything the original represented.

9 / 10.0 - Spelunky
Sep 10, 2021

Spelunky is exactly what a roguelike should be: challenging, addictive, and full of secrets to discover. Whether you play alone or in a group, it will keep you engaged for hours without even noticing the time passing by. Almost all the time, the player will be discovering new things while exploring and dying a lot in the mines. The only downside being that there are various moments of frustration where we suffer from deaths that really didn't seem fair.

Kowloon High-School Chronicle is a very fun RPG filled with good ideas, that deserved to have its chance in the West after so long. It has memorable characters, addresses several interesting subjects about Japanese mythology and real-world mysteries, and has a very interesting first person dungeon crawler combat system. However, several of its mechanics are extremely dated and/or very punishing, causing several moments of frustration throughout a campaign that becomes extremely difficult to finish in the last steps due to a lot of activities that the player has to manage in a limited time that the game fails to explain how it is all connected and important for you to be able to beat the game.
