Star Overdrive is a nice indie, to try at a discount, maybe during a slightly boring lunch break or on the train with the Lite in hand. But don't expect to still find yourself in the evening, red-eyed and heart pounding. A good starting point, but it needs fuel to really make its mark.

‘INAYAH - Life after Gods’ is a title that certainly has potential that is not fully expressed. It could have taken only a few tweaks to make it a first-class title. If you are a casual gamer looking for a light metroidvania experience, it might offer you some fun moments, but be prepared to deal with a few imperfections.

Beyond the Ice Palace 2 is a game full of heart and nostalgic charm, though held back by some technical and structural limitations. If you’re a casual gamer looking for a retro distraction, or a Metroidvania fan who enjoys uncovering indie hidden gems, you’ll likely find something to enjoy despite its flaws. It’s not a masterpiece, nor a genre-defining title, but it delivers a few hours of nostalgic adventure and plays nicely on the Steam Deck. It’s not perfect—but it’s sincere, and sometimes, that’s exactly what we look for in a game.

This is not to say that Morkull Ragast's Rage is a bad game, because it certainly has qualities. The problem is that, between bugs and lack of originality, it really fails to stand out in the 2D action platformer scene. If you are a die-hard fan of the genre and have exhausted all the better alternatives, you might still give it a chance, but don't expect a title that lives up to its benchmarks. I hope the developers can fix the technical problems with some updates, because beneath the flaws is a game that with a little more care has all the potential to be much more convincing.

SWORN is an action roguelike that deserves your attention if you love the genre and are fascinated by dark reinterpretations of classic legends. Done well, it takes references here and there but still retains an identity of its own. There are some technical imperfections due to its early access status but it still offers an interesting experience thanks to dynamic gameplay, unique aesthetics and narrative depth. If you like games like Hades, Dead Cells and the graphical style of Darkest Dungeon, you'll find SWORN an enjoyable and entertaining co-operative experience. The potential is all there: now it just remains to be seen how the developers will continue to improve it in the coming months.

The quality of the pixel art, evocative music and well-balanced game mechanics make it a worthy title. Blade Chimera is a metroidvania with a solid storyline, effective gameplay and a sketchy but functional RPG component. What works is the whole, the feeling it gives the player, the plot that engages with functional twists and turns, and the variety of enemies and bosses. As far as I'm concerned, this is a must-buy title!
