Critic Reviews for Sworn
Sworn is an incredibly fun action Roguelite to jump into, especially if you have friends to play with. While it certainly isn't perfect, there's enough here to at least give it a shot. Sworn in its best moments is a game that engages you on several levels and forces you to make difficult decisions while rewarding your hard work. In its worst moments, it's a bit of a slog that will have you questioning your strategy and build. If you like Arthurian legend and thoroughly enjoy Roguelite action with meta-progression, you'll find yourself very pleased with your time in Sworn.
Whilst offering bombastic fun in online multiplayer, this Hades-like roguelite is oddly muted in single-player, an issue likely exacerbated due to the developer failing in making the most of the game's iconic mythological setting. A decently reliable experience then, but one so similar to so many other roguelites you'd have sworn you had already played Sworn before.
Sworn is a Hades-like game that's aware of its limitations. It's entertaining for hours thanks to its four selectable characters, but the maps are repetitive and the initial difficulty curve is truly inaccessible.

SWORN is an action roguelike that deserves your attention if you love the genre and are fascinated by dark reinterpretations of classic legends. Done well, it takes references here and there but still retains an identity of its own. There are some technical imperfections due to its early access status but it still offers an interesting experience thanks to dynamic gameplay, unique aesthetics and narrative depth. If you like games like Hades, Dead Cells and the graphical style of Darkest Dungeon, you'll find SWORN an enjoyable and entertaining co-operative experience. The potential is all there: now it just remains to be seen how the developers will continue to improve it in the coming months.

It’s Hades, if Hades had four players, corrupted Arthurian lore, and a dark comic book soul. Early Access rarely feels this confident. Co-op roguelike fans, your quest has arrived.
SWORN is excellent for those looking for something else to try out that is extremely similar to Hades, and want to try out playing Hades in co-op with their friends. It has a lot to offer, and I believe it is fun enough to overlook the bad taste that may be left due to its blatant plagiarism.
