If you're a Gears fan, you'll turn your nose up at the annoying new character early on, but you'll enjoy taking part in Emergence Day and learning how it all began.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy keeps the series' gorgeous visuals and guides you without holding your hand. It's a linear 14-hour adventure that would be worth full price in any month less crowded than September.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is even prettier than before and has some of the best boss fights in years, even if the finale is less thrilling. An excellent 8.5: not perfect, but highly recommended.

Fate/Samurai Remnant reworks Koei Tecmo's Musou formula into an appealing action RPG, set in an alternate feudal Japan that samurai fans will love. English-only subtitles are a barrier for some players.

The Last of Us Part I updates the visuals but is essentially the same game. If you replayed the Remastered version recently you may not need it, but after almost ten years away it felt like playing for the first time. It would be an easy 9 without its simple bugs.

Far Cry 6 follows the usual Ubisoft formula, and that isn't a bad thing. It was a lot of fun once the weapon modding clicked, but frequent silly bugs, like enemies stuck in walls and slow restarts, cost it half a point.

A good game, especially for fans of the anime, with CyberConnect2's trademark animation and boss fights. A small roster, no Brazilian Portuguese subtitles and a story mode full of slow, dragging moments keep it from being a must-play.

Greak: Memories of Azur looks like another indie metroidvania but plays differently, built around puzzles with its sibling characters. It is worth playing, but it's short and ends just as it finally gets good.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a visual feast and a showcase of what the PlayStation 5 can do. It could use more side missions, but it's an excellent popcorn adventure full of action, comedy and great dubbing that runs without frame drops.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a slower-paced platformer than Astro's Playroom, but once you settle into its rhythm it's a really good game. Full voice acting and a simple story make it great for kids.

NieR: Automata is beautiful, frantic and full of surprises: the first ending only scratches the surface, and you'll keep playing to find out what happened to this planet. Some frame drops in busy fights on base consoles.

Days Gone launched without the final polish, but it's a lovingly crafted Walking Dead-style experience with a careful story and a well-built world. It earns an 8 today, though it would have been a 7 at launch.

Anthem launched with many bugs, long loadings and unstable servers, and some of its problems are structural. Its flying gameplay is a pleasure, and it isn't a lost cause yet, but interested players should keep an eye on it.

Blind has an engaging, mysterious story, but its price isn't inviting and some puzzles break the narrative and frustrate. Worth a look as a whole, just don't expect a horror game.

A must-have for every PSVR owner, at an honest price, with well-built enemies, great lighting and solid immersion. It isn't perfect, but it rises above the average.
