Elisha Deogracias's Reviews

I'm a big fan of weird and niche video games! I grew up on DDR, Katamari Damacy, Elite Beat Agents, and Trauma Center, so you know I'm a pretty fun rhythm agent doctor (just kidding.) I dabble in freelance, so if you want someone to help out with a script or story for a gaming project or need something reviewed, let me know! You can follow me on Examiner or Twitter to keep up with my sporadically updated pages. May be a kid or a squid.
70 / 100 - 140
Jan 14, 2020

140 looks and sounds as great as ever on the Switch, though some boss battles and a lack of meaningful post-game content means that it's like an album you'll listen to once and forget about until you come back to it years later.

65 / 100 - Pulstario
Jan 5, 2020

While frustrating to control and a little rough around the edges in terms of presentation, a neat progression system and great replay value make Pulstario is a nifty little Switch title that is worth your dollar.

With an endearing, violent, and engaging story, AI: The Somnium Files is an adventure game that fans of the visual novel genre should not miss. With a novel puzzle-solving mechanic and impressive voice performances, this game is a dream come true.

70 / 100 - Just Dance 2020
Dec 23, 2019

As a ten-year celebration for the franchise, Just Dance 2020 is mostly the same, for better or for worse. While it strips some of the innovative features of past entries, the eclectic and energetic songlist will get any party pumped up all night. Just make sure you get Just Dance Unlimited for a better time.

Zumba: Burn it Up! will appeal to the hardcore fans of the workout program and for those who want to do some serious cardio. While it's not going to win points for its lack of killer top tracks or limited modes, it's a great time for those serious about their exercise goals.

Perseverance marks an ambitious first installment of a unique visual novel that ends sooner than it needs to in order to be a fully satisfying prologue. While some mechanics need to be tinkered, the game is a fun and creepy visual novel for the asking price. I just hope that future installments will be made sooner rather than later.

60 / 100 - Gravity Duck
Nov 2, 2019

For those wanting to kill a couple of hours with 4.99, Gravity Duck is right up your alley. While it doesn't do much in terms of replay value and it doesn't get innovative until the end, it's still worth your time if you want to dust off your Vita.

In the end, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz HD will satisfy fans with its lovingly new remade visuals and presentation. While the single-player mode is much more improved thanks to analog controls, the new multiplayer elements are drab and will damper your experience should you want something to play with friends. These are some Super Monkey Balls you should probably play with yourself rather than others

Double Switch: 25th Anniversary Edition is a great remaster of a competent FMV title. While the archaic frustrations are still present alongside some technical hiccups, it's still a nice trip down memory lane for those who want to relive the 90s era of live-action gaming.

I Love You Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin' Good Dating Simulator is fun for a free laugh, but will bore visual novel veterans with its one-note supporting cast. Stay for the art style, but feel free to grab your chicken to go if you're in a hurry for something else.

If you want to kill an hour with a serviceable mystery game, Doctor Dolittle could be up your alley. While it does serve up a nice pixel art style and an admittedly charming premise, it botches the execution with its terrible translation and simplistic logic.

75 / 100 - PictoQuest
Aug 30, 2019

If you're looking for a fun Picross title to play for an affordable price, PictoQuest has got you covered. While a bit too overbearing with its action elements, the new mechanics and tried-and-true Picross puzzles are sure to engage beginners and veterans alike.

Whipseey and the Lost Atlas shows promise with its cute art style and nice soundtrack, but without longer levels or collectibles to encourage replay value, the minor annoyances that drag this game down are all the more apparent. If you have a few bucks to blow, you can try it out, but otherwise just stay away.

In the wake of the Vita's official death, there are few titles to look forward to: Super Wiloo Demake is not one of them. With clumsy controls, uninteresting art style, and an overall sense of generic settings, this is a game you should definitely skip unless you really want that trophy.

Lethal League Blaze is an excellent game for the competitive crowd, but it's a bit hard to recommend on the Switch over other versions. The eccentric character designs, great soundtrack, and blazing-fast gameplay are charming, but the performance issues and online gripes means this version falls short from being a masterpiece

60 / 100 - Type:Rider
Jul 9, 2019

If you ever wanted to learn about your favorite fonts, Type:Rider gives you more information than you needed to know. While an uneven platformer that struggles with you from beginning to end, it's a serviceable romp for those that want a slightly relaxing game to play in these summer months.

Gato Roboto has some wonderful aesthetic choices and innovative boss fights, but the awfully short length and generic enemy design hamper an otherwise quirky title.

80 / 100 - Dandy Dungeon
Jun 25, 2019

While a little reliant on grinding near the end, Dandy Dungeon: Legend of Brave Yamada is a delightful little tongue-in-cheek RPG with a little heart and a lot of laughs. Its simple yet engrossing gameplay system mixed with fun puzzle mechanics and cute presentation make this a wonderful Switch title to play on the go.
