Jason Stettner's Reviews
Silent Hill 2 Remake is an incredible reimagining of an iconic horror game bringing with it deep levels of emotion and a great sense of terror.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is an incredible technical achievement and the best looking game I’ve ever seen. To match that the story is well crafted, the combat feels visceral and the pacing is great.
Stellar Blade was an absolutely stellar, gorgeous experience that was filled to the brim with action while still balancing a somber vibe.
Deceit 2 is a fast paced free to play game of deduction that offers a speedy way to either hunt or be hunted while using tools to assist either cause.
Prince Peach Showtime! is quite a lot of fun, it features vibrant visuals and a wide range of various talents that the lead heroine can display.
Alone in the Dark is a solid reimagining of this classic horror franchise, but it doesn’t necessarily provide a perfectly compelling experience.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is incredible, it’s an expansive role playing game that hits the desired fantasy level just right.
The Inquisitor had some real potential to it, an intriguing concept that’s let down by crippling performance issues among many other bugs.
Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is impressive for its longevity, excellent narrative delivery and setting but alas I did find combat cumbersome with the difficulty spikes being annoying.
ShapeNeon Chaos delivers some solid standard twin stick shooter modes while its backdrop is far too busy, distracting from the chaos in the forefront.
Return to Grace is a curious walking sim experience, one with a nice sense of mystery but alas a tad light in its overall execution.
GENIE Reprise is a boring slog, it has some decent poetry anchored by insanely slow progression.
Skull and Bones is an aesthetically displeasing, barebones pirate game lacking base fundamentals such as boarding which provides an incredibly mundane and ultimately boring experience that is far below the par compared to its inspiration from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
Foamstars is a whole lot of noise, the foam is cool but ultimately the game just left me dry.
Scars Above can at times come across as fairly generic, it’s still however a decent enough sci-fi mystery and I think at the right value point you can have an enjoyable time working through it.
RoboCop: Rogue City is fun, it’s a great time that perfectly matches the era it’s aiming to replicate.
Prince of Persia The Lost Crown is a great Metroidvania experience providing a lengthy, challenging adventure that balances cinematics with gameplay while also evolving the genre.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is all spectacle being probably the most impressive current generation game when it comes to visuals, but alas a rather boring time lacking substance.
The Walking Dead Destinies is a rather abysmal attempt at what’s actually an interesting concept, a situation releasing far too late for its intended era while playing like it would at that time.
Skull Island: Rise of Kong is a truly awful, mundane and strangely perplexing to traverse linear experience where Kong deals with deep emotional trauma.
