Jason Stettner's Reviews
Gangs of Sherwood is somewhat ambitious, but short and contains basically no replayability.
Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion Remastered is a nice conclusion to the upgraded Turok series and I appreciate that I was able to play this trilogy, I am however left waiting for more just like many were ever so many years ago.
The Finals is action packed, filled with epic destruction and the tournament mode provides a nice competitive edge.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare III is the most minimal effort we’ve ever seen from the franchise being essentially the exact same game from the previous year. It really does feel like an expansion pack. They literally took last year’s game, sped it up and shoved maps from fourteen years ago into it.
Alan Wake 2 was well worth the long wait, it continued the story I loved with exciting new twists and developments.
Detective Pikachu Returns has some charm with its core characters and is a cute little detective story for the younger audience.
Forza Motorsport is a technically impressive offering that is at the forefront of current generation racing. It does however feel limited by its content, particularly as it’s been so long since the previous release.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a great return to form offering a fun adventure within a dense, lively city that does hit that feeling of classic Creed.
Payday 3 does play it safe, it feels like Payday 2 with some refinements and modern elements while not greatly expanding upon the core concepts of play.
Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo provides an exciting story that goes deep into the darkest depths of crazed obsession, but is stuck within a rough shell featuring poorly aged mechanics and presentation.
The Crew Motorfest offers a scenic easy going open world racing game that refines upon elements of The Crew 2 with a great selection of content backing it.
Starfield is the ultimate space adventure, a game I often dreamed of being possible in my youth and finally fully realized by Bethesda.
Fort Solis provides a fun mystery, a good level of suspense and some engaging characters well grounded by the great performances behind them.
Immortals of Aveum provides a surprisingly lengthy narrative; but with that a rather bloated and repetitive one with magic that while cool, is hard to see with the blurry visuals.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre delivers on horror and exciting gameplay while also at times coming across as rather repetitive.
Atlas Fallen is ambitious being tight in scale and offering some limited scope which was refreshing for an open world game.
Crash Team Rumble is fun, with a strangely addicting gameplay loop that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Hogwarts Legacy provides a magical adventure set within a beautifully well detailed Hogwarts, it really does make the school year come alive in an exciting and interesting way.
Diablo 4 is an incredibly impressive continuation and expansion upon the core foundations of Diablo, offering an ultimately extensive and exciting experience.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is the worst game I’ve ever played, it barely functions and when it does it’s just mundanely boring.
