Jonathan White's Reviews
It’s really a shame that Robot Entertainment created Orcs Must Die so many years ago, cause that would have been the perfect name for Extinction.
If Dave Meltzer had reviewed this game, it'd get 5 stars for having Kazuchika Okada and the Tokyo Dome in it.
It looks and sounds great, but even this remaster’s improvements and decent combat doesn’t make the story any better.
The Surge takes a little bit to sink the hooks in you, but once it does, you'll have a very hard time putting it down.
Overall, I recommend Castlevania Requiem if for no other reason than to play Symphony of the Night so you can understand how the Metroidvania genre truly came to light. Rondo is trash, but the platinum wasn’t all that hard so if you’re a completionist, this is an enjoyable collection to platinum.
Fire Emblem Warriors is a terrific experience, but the story isn’t up to par with what fans might expect.
While it’s mostly more of the same, some new mechanics on top of an already excellent base make The Fractured But Whole a must have for any South Park fan.
When Battle Chasers: Nightwar works correctly, it’s a fantastic game.
Cuphead’s biggest enemy isn’t the Devil, it’s RNGesus.
Drop kicking normal Pikachu as a Luchadore Pikachu was a dream come true.
Bringing together some of Tecmo Koei’s biggest stars in a convoluted furry cloud of deja vu.
There’s a surprising amount of content here, but also a surprisingly large price tag for a game that's 26 years old.
All the pretty visuals and melancholy music might make this one a fun game to look at and hear, but that’s where the charm stops.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a lot more than just the “complete edition” – it’s the only edition that exists from this point forward.
When it comes to raging, throbbing, murder boners, no one can compare to The King, Duke Nukem.
It takes a lot of guts to remake a game in the first place, but to put your own spin on a classic while still remaining a labor of love really speaks for Inti Creates and their love for the franchise and respect for its fans.
Bomberman Live on the Xbox 360 was a far better Bomberman game than Super Bomberman R is, and that game is almost 10 years old at this point.
I adored Bloodborne, and I really enjoyed all of the Souls games, but Nioh manages to scratch the itch that I didn’t even realize I had and truly raises the bar on this sub-genre.
Compelling stories, brutal combat, and batshit insane side quests are the kinds of things I live for and Yakuza 0 manages to hit all the right buttons.
It's important that you know about the issues present in the game before you're told that in spite of all that is wrong, it's still an incredible adventure.
