I’m going out on a limb to say Dying Light 2 isn’t for everyone. There is a bit of frustration you need to initially power through. The overall gameplay loop requires a bit of self-sufficiency if you want to get the most out of your experience. Once you can take your time in the night/dark cycles of the game, there is a lot more that opens up, but that also requires a ton of backtracking.
Desperados III is the pre-sequel that we didn’t ask for, but we sure needed it. It’s a (poisoned) shot in the arm that shows how problem-solving, not lightning-quick reflexes can save the day.
The problem is, if Red Dead Redemption is perfect (which it is), 2 feels like more of the same but requires more patience than the original.
One part rogue-like, one part Metroidvania. Mix in some speed running and you’ve got yourself a tremendous baby of a game.
Despite having a terrific antagonist, Far Cry 5 seems to struggle to connect the player to the story.
Get gud and kick Patches off a cliff in HD. What’s not to love?
A decent price tag for a sweet slice of nostalgia, but some performance issues and lack of many gameplay options limit how much longevity you’ll get out of it.
If you’re going to revamp a franchise, God of War 2018 is the new gold standard on how to pull it off.
Absolutely TERAble.
This game is brutally difficult and wants to watch you suffer through over 100 different songs.
Dynasty Warriors 9 is basically the $60 equivalent of a Steam Early Access title, and it’s a slap in the face and the reproductive organs, to fans of the series.
It’s really a shame that Robot Entertainment created Orcs Must Die so many years ago, cause that would have been the perfect name for Extinction.
If Dave Meltzer had reviewed this game, it'd get 5 stars for having Kazuchika Okada and the Tokyo Dome in it.
It looks and sounds great, but even this remaster’s improvements and decent combat doesn’t make the story any better.
The Surge takes a little bit to sink the hooks in you, but once it does, you'll have a very hard time putting it down.
Fire Emblem Warriors is a terrific experience, but the story isn’t up to par with what fans might expect.
While it’s mostly more of the same, some new mechanics on top of an already excellent base make The Fractured But Whole a must have for any South Park fan.
When Battle Chasers: Nightwar works correctly, it’s a fantastic game.
Cuphead’s biggest enemy isn’t the Devil, it’s RNGesus.
Drop kicking normal Pikachu as a Luchadore Pikachu was a dream come true.
