Destiny 2 is the game I was totally hyped to play three years ago, finally.
Bringing together some of Tecmo Koei’s biggest stars in a convoluted furry cloud of deja vu.
There’s a surprising amount of content here, but also a surprisingly large price tag for a game that's 26 years old.
All the pretty visuals and melancholy music might make this one a fun game to look at and hear, but that’s where the charm stops.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a lot more than just the “complete edition” – it’s the only edition that exists from this point forward.
When it comes to raging, throbbing, murder boners, no one can compare to The King, Duke Nukem.
It takes a lot of guts to remake a game in the first place, but to put your own spin on a classic while still remaining a labor of love really speaks for Inti Creates and their love for the franchise and respect for its fans.
Even though I can take a sizeable time to complain about Breath of the Wild (and that’s not even talking about performance issues), the game is still a very good one. I would comfortably say that after an extensive period of playing Breath of the Wild, I do believe that it is one of the best Legend of Zelda games that has ever been made.
Bomberman Live on the Xbox 360 was a far better Bomberman game than Super Bomberman R is, and that game is almost 10 years old at this point.
I adored Bloodborne, and I really enjoyed all of the Souls games, but Nioh manages to scratch the itch that I didn’t even realize I had and truly raises the bar on this sub-genre.
Compelling stories, brutal combat, and batshit insane side quests are the kinds of things I live for and Yakuza 0 manages to hit all the right buttons.
It's important that you know about the issues present in the game before you're told that in spite of all that is wrong, it's still an incredible adventure.
WWE literally puts on a show that is mostly about presentation, yet somehow WWE games are always lesser in presentation quality than NBA 2K.
Seriously, Forza Horizon 3 is an absolute must own experience if you’re into racing games. The gold standard of arcade racers just pushed the bar to the highest limits.
In spite of the flaws, Attack on Titan is a great way to introduce people to Omega Force (that is, if they didn't play the excellent Hyrule Warriors) and hopefully it'll introduce more people to Dynasty Warriors as well.
No Man's Sky has a framework that could have led to an impressive game. Instead, the core parts of "gameplay" seem to be limited in the name of calling it a "chill game". It's boring, uninspired, repetitive and simply unfun.
Without playing all the franchises in Telltale Games’ catalog, I can’t say whether Batman is their best work – but I can tell you that it is masterly crafted for both fans and casuals alike, and Episode one had me hooked to the point to where I couldn’t put it down.
All in all, if you are looking for a good JRPG and a reason to use your 3DS that isn’t called Monster Hunter or Pokémon, this is it. The name may be a bit of a turn-off to people casually browsing the 3DS library, but this game delivers in a way that I never expected it would.
Furi rewards patience, pattern recognition, and it’s stylish enough that it’s worth trudging through the frustration to see what happens.
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir takes a game that deserved a lot more praise than it initially received and makes it the game that it always had the potential to be.
