Champions of Anteria is based on an excellent idea but has too many structural problems. It is, in the end, a two-faced product, divided between a good strategic section and a boring action phase.

A solid but not excellent puzzle game. The Turing Test is a nice title, with interesting puzzles and an enigmatic story. Some rooms are complex and compelling, but at the end of the adventure truly memorable puzzles will be less than expected.

The overall structure of Brut@l is well designed, and procedural generation of the dungeons is good enough to present sufficiently varied floors. Unfortunately a the combat system is soporific and too simplified to entertain.

An effective style and a good pacing. Nnot all scenes are built with the same attention, but the main character models are wonderful, and the plot seems to have a dark twitst we are eager to explore.

Abzu is an interactive exposure of wonderful underwater nature, concentrated but memorable. However, the game is still missing an important message, a sort of subtext that can impress the player. It remains an important debut for a young team that will be able to achieve great things, with a little more experience.

Ghosbusters is the perfect recipe for boredom. There is nothing wrong in its basic mechanics, but the pace is soporific, the level design is too linear, and the situations are the same over the entire course of the story. It is, in the end, a gaming monster to flee from, no matter what.

There is no reason for you to play Umbrella Corps. There isnt if youre a shooter game fan, because there is a low number of options and contents, and the online infrastructure is unstable. There isnt even if youre a Resident Evil fan: the only association to the series is the map design, that resembles some of the places of the main chapters.

Catalyst is not a flawless reboot, but it remains a very deep experience, filled with well-designed quests and interesting secondary activities; most of all, the game takes advantage of the environment in a clever way, making it strongly interactive for the players.

It looks like Burning Blood has been conceived for the original series fans to to have thrilling challenges against the CPU, in which they can appreciate the the great number of special moves and spectacular techniques. There is no way to justify TMNT: Mutanti a Manhattan: the combats are noisy and puzzling, it looks like the system has been made to confuse the players, and it keeps reminding how shallow the game developing has been. The few good aspects just fade away in front of its low-level production.

The new Homefront does not excel in any field, carrying the wounds of a troubled development. The gameplay is too rough, the AI unrefined, the campaign very short (unless you get involved in the tedious subquests). The biggest fault of The Revolution, though, is the decision to re-write the setting, trivializing the impressive work that John Milius did for the first chapter.

Exaggerated, violent, ruthless. Bethesda and idSoftware took the essence of the shooters you played in the 90s and rewrote it with a modern language. DOOM is an unstoppable FPS, with a bloodthirsty single player campaing and a solid Multiplayer, unfortunately showing some balancing problems.

Uncharted 4 is one of the best action game ever created. The story doesn't have the same emotional impact of The Last of Us, but it bravely focus on the characters and their relationships. On the other side the tension, the diversity, the pace and the aesthetic value of Nate's last adventure is something we never experienced before.

Afetr a wobbly start, Michonne's mini-series returns on the right path. This last episode is, literally, What We Deserve: a story focused on the characters and not on the fan-service, a touching tale of revenge and forgiveness.

Alienation is Housemarque's masterpiece. A fast-paced heir of Dead Nation, deeply integrated with RPG mechanics and loot system. Alienation is the Diablo of the Twin Stick Shooter genre, with a short campaign but an enormous endgame.

The epilogue of Camouflaj's Republique forgets about the mediocre God's Acre and tries to catch up with the first three episodes. But two years after the debut many ideas are outdated and the linear level design can't sustain a pleasant progression.

The new Ratchet & Clank is half a reboot, half an original adventure. It has the old school gameplay, surprising new weapons and gadgets, and a huge veriety of situations to support an interesting adventure. The last part of the story mode, however, becomes too easy and too messy when the weapon upgrade system neutralizes the level of difficulty. Shorter than the original Ratchet & Clank, is a great comeback for the duo anyway.

Heart Machine delivers a great masterpiece, an impressive mixture of style and gameplay. Hyper Light Drifter is one of the best action game we ever played, and showcases a complex and enchanting pixel art. It brings you in a silent and distant world, it tests your ability with a deep an fast paced gameplay; it's the rightful heir of '90s bidimensional adventures.
