Let's put aside the controversies about the Metal Gear saga, and talk about the game, and what it can really offer. The idea of mixing the gameplay of Metal Gear Solid V with a survival setting could have really worked, but the truth is that the very foundation of the game is pretty weak and messy. There are some fun and challenging moments, but overall it feels like a wasted opportunity.

Jurassic World Aftermath is limited to the exploratory part, with the classic character remotely indicating the objectives while a beastly unscripted IA, a Velociraptor specifically, hunts us down. A mix however capable of intrigue and push the player forward, provided that he respects some fundamental prerogatives of the subgenre. And yes, Jurassic World Aftermath makes it.

The first Mass Effect trilogy is probably not a masterpiece, but, like basically everybody else, we become very fond of it, and loved the unique experience if offered. The main problem with Mass Effect Andromeda is that the main flaws of the first trilogy are still here, and that's not only the animations and the graphic quirks. Despite an open world sometimes visually majestic, the game lacks the boldness you need in order to go where no man has gone before.

Blacksad: Under the Skin is an adventure that moves away from the classic point and click structure, but it's far from perfect in the ambitious game design. That said, Pendulo Studios game is pleasant to play and overall unmissable by fans of the original comic.

A good zombie slayer, heir to one of the first games of the genre in virtual reality. Arizona Sunshine 2 uses some references – dog à la Fallout, TLoU-style zombie mutations, mainly – to increase the fun and game solutions. It's a shame for a visual design that took into account the all-in-one versions of the game, especially in outdoor scenarios, and the graphic limitations are also felt on PS VR2 and PC. Better show, but not as much as it could have been.

Green Hell VR is a great survival game also in virtual reality for PC, certainly one of the best. The interactions are less accurate and responsive than those in the excellent version for Quest 2, but overall the audiovisual impact balances these differences and offers one of the most vivid "wilderness" settings ever seen in VR.

Into the Radius is an ambitious STALKER-like VR game, so deep in its sci-fi survival features that it feels like a real "Roadside Picnic Simulator". The development team is very small and, in technical terms, the experience is very far from perfect, but also capable of immersing you in a scary and iper-realistic Zone.

The Sims 4 Discover University involves you to play and play again with your Sims, without ever getting bored. The many elements introduced, from PHD to careers, passing through most goliardic events, are able to create a self-contained chapter in the life of our Sims, clearly satisfying the most fierce fans of the franchise. Cosmetic elements are not so many, but careers and PHD offer a proper entertainment, creating a great play experience, similar to the old expansions.

Are you ready to play the role of a badass secret agent? Despite some undeniable flaws, Twisted Pixel's game let you do it with style. Poor interactivity with the environment and mini-games can awaken abruptly the player from the feeling of "presence", but the variety of action and a fair degree of replayability make Defector a remarkable example of a virtual reality mix, balanced between adventure and action.

The acclaimed Nioh marks its debut on PC without any particular accomplishment or novelties: the PC version, that includes the three previously released DLCs, can either be defined "pure" or "lazy", depending on your point of view. For the time being, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds won - pun intended - the battle royale of battle royales. This new "gold rush" spawned a good number of decent titles, but the one created by Brendan Greene if by far the best and funniest to play (even if there's still room for improvement).

After all the ruckus and the controversies, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 finally reveals itself for what it is: a great Star Wars experience. The new Campaign is definitely well written and thrilling (with some memorable dogfights in the space), and the multiplayer improves everything we already loved in the first Battlefront. There are still some issues with a progression system that relies a little bit too much on randomness, but the game is definitely better off without microtransactions.

They Shall Not Pass is a rather good DLC, with a lot of content and a bunch of new, well-designed maps (especially the Verdun battle). It doesn't offer anything truly original or unique, and it's not exactly cheap, but if you're a fan of Battlefield 1, we find no reason why you shouldn't be roaming in the new Behemoth, or shooting enemies in the Fort Aux bunker.

The new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DLC offers a nice, challenging experience for the player, thanks to a rich and complex new mission, a hefty level design (whereas the prison setting fits perfectly) and a lot of choices that favour the stealth gameplay.
