Don't let looks deceive you. Sure it looks swell, and OK colours are somewhat restricted, being desert and all that, but the textures are well rendered. Dust and mud stick to the cars as you race, very nicely rendered clouds of dust rise up around you but that does not detract from the fact that this is a game that just does not thrill and excite you like Forza 7 or Forza Horizon 4, in fact it is just NOT fun. It's hard, frustrating and vehicle handling, don't get me started.
It has potential but just does not live up to it. Looks good, and sounds great but oh my, it falls short in too many other departments. This will appeal to those that have a great deal of patience and tolerance, if you don't have those in great abundance stay clear.
There just is not enough on offer here for me to invest anymore time on this game than I already have, in fact as I type this the game is highlighted and I'm ready to hit the delete option.
A prime example of how retro console gaming can still be fun AND relevant. Cracking good fun...
Fast, furious and challenging. Also not very long in length, but the game play time may well be extended as you get yourself into the sideways scrolling demon's souls type punishment coming your way should you make a mistake!
What you have here is a fast and fluid and for the most part fun two vs two arcade style basketball game for up to 4 players. Like Rocket League games are fast, with a 10 minute time period though you can tweak settings via the option menu if you so desire.
Worth getting yes, to everyone's taste maybe not. But for those wanting an insight to the world of mental illness and perhaps some understanding of it, then look no further.
If you are looking for a Mass Effect multi path adventure then look elsewhere but if you are looking for something fun, retro style and above all entertaining then this will be right up your alley. Play with an open mind and your tongue in cheek. Good fun.
An engaging title that will encourage you to think outside the box and look at it from some very obtuse angles. It won't take too long to complete but you won't breeze through it either. No DLC that I have heard about so far but there's enough to keep you occupied. Thought provoking, challenging and above all else entertaining in it's own way.
This will take some time to play through and the options to replay it with different character types as well as gender will have you coming back to it. Try playing through it with a different character class, influence different people and see what happens the next time. This is NOT easy and you will find it's a long journey but with patience and perseverance you will get through it and on the way will be surprised, maybe even shocked a little.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of those rare games that actually feels like a AAA title. The level of polish and care that has gone into the game echoes throughout. It's an incredible journey worth undertaking, worth every moment you spend with the game.
The presentation of this is superb. The screenshots do not do this justice and as for the sound.. Listen to this through a home cinema system and it's going to be atmospheric. For the true experience play it through head phones and don't blame me if the slightest knock, scratch etc. has you jumping like a jack rabbit. This is one slickly executed game. Visually impressive yet visceral, atmospheric and genuinely scary. This is the Resident Evil we have been waiting for for such a long time.
It's cartoony graphics and jaunty soundtrack help sell the tale, and as unlikely as it is, it can draw you in. The developers 10 Tons seem able to come up with whacky ideas and to some extent make them work well indeed. Like King Oddball this started life as a 'finger flicker' game on mobile devices, and as a port to consoles works OK enough. I would guess though that on mobile devices there is a way to adjust not only attack angles but the power put behind each shot. If there is a way to adjust shot power I could not find it.
Bright, colourful graphics and some very nicely rendered explosions, impacts with water etc. However level design does not vary very much and perhaps some extra special weapons could have been added to mix it up a little but this is a minor gripe. The music and sound are pretty darned good. If you are looking for a serious flight sim then look elsewhere amigo, but if you want a fast, furious and above all else, FUN arcade shooter than this is it. If anyone has played Reso Gun on the PS4 and have wondered when and if the X Box One is going to get a game that's as much fun and a big a blast as that. then this comes pretty damned close.
It reminds me of Alien Isolation especially when you recall the heroine of that titles explorations of the abandoned space terminal. But at least you are not in danger of being hunted down and eaten by some huge, acid blooded, xenomorph! The lack of action may put some off, but if you like a good puzzle solving game, with some platform style jumping to do then this is it.
A definite step in the right direction. A sense of nostalgia with it's Here Comes the Pain style backstage action, with RPG style elements
Where Cobalt differs from other platform games, is in the multi player aspect. Here we have a horde mode style game, a capture the flag mode, and a death match free for all that reminds me of Playstation's All Star Battle Royale! Fast and fun, that is when the frame rate doesn't suffer due to some lag or if the server doesn't boot you out. This marks what is otherwise a fun online mode, but the single player game makes up for the shortcomings in the multiplayer mode. I disagree with some reviews elsewhere that say it looks as if the multiplayer was bolted on in a kind of what the hell, we may as well do it mood. It's fun and amusing and makes a change from all of the CoD clones out there.
