The typical gamer will find Star Wars Squadrons a difficult game with a bland storyline and poor content. Others will have an opportunity to take out their joysticks and find out just how great the classic Star Wars sims were. It’s good that the gaming community was reminded of the classics like X-Wings and TIE Fighers, but I’m still waiting for a true gem to come in the future.

Flight Simulator 2020 is a gargantuan game that promises to become even bigger, richer and more technically advanced over the coming years. Fans will be delighted by the flying, and everyone else should keep an eye on expansions and DLCs (buildings, planes etc.), which will certainly elevate this true next-gen game even higher!

For me Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts is one of the biggest surprises of the year. I was prepared for a rehashed Ghost Warrior 3 – a very tiresome production. Fortunately, the length and diversity of the new installment maintained my interest throughout the entire game. Contracts is definitely the best game in the series, far more enjoyable than Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.

Despite minor technical issues and sometimes underwhelming graphics, I had lots of fun. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a trip down the memory lane; to the times when I played the best Star Wars games for the very first time. Respawn Entertainment can easily put their game on the same shelf as Jedi Outcast. The Force is strong with this one!

It’s time for a revolution. Need for Speed: Heat is definitely the best game in the current-gen series, but that’s nothing to brag about. This actually should have been the first NFS for the 8th generation of consoles – then, perhaps, we would still have remembered it as something special. But at this point, the game basically just goes through the motions. Not great, not terrible.

After all the "divisions" and "breakpoints," Modern Warfare seems to come from a different planet. The multiplayer harks back to the days of Battlefield 2 & 3, and the single-player campaign shows war in a mature and realistic way. Finally, we have a game that makes no allowances for a lower age rating. Call of Duty is back at the top – hands down, the best shooter on the market right now.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is huge and quite scenic at times. Unfortunately, the world is bland and empty, the mechanics are flawed, and the gameplay is more irritating than fun. The developers have cobbled too many things together, without fully realizing any of them. If you want a spec-op experience, go back to Wildlands – the last true Ghost Recon installment. Breakpoint is the first game of the Ulbimate genre by Ubisoft – an empty shell with microtransactions.

GreedFall slaps together a beautiful map, complex quests, good decision making, an in-depth setting and a really cool storyline with good character building. There are some technical issues and a surprisingly dull beginning – don't let them discourage you!

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a breath of fresh air in the sandbox/survival genre. At the same time, the original atmosphere and compelling gameplay is blended with some subpar elements that ought to discourage many players – and there’s too much repetitiveness.

A few fun moments is too little to even say that I had fun. Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a bizarre hybrid – a rail shooter with grind and endgame reminiscent of open-world games. An RPG looter-shooter without loot or real rewards. The game fails to be good at any single element it offers, and a ton of games out there is better at all of them.
