A really great experience and an exciting step forward for the future of virtual visual novels. You really feel much more drawn into the role of the main character than a typical visual novel. Complimented by a really fantastic soundtrack and interesting characters to help tie together the story, and you always feel compelled to continue and keep uncovering more information about the world and the meteoras.

The beat-em-up gameplay won't blow you away, but Senran Kagura: Burst Re:Newal has a surprising amount of fun in just about every other avenue that ended up making this game a pretty enjoyable experience overall. I'm not a big fan of perverted games but this one is just so over the top nonsensical about it, it ends up being rather charming. Just remember kids: This is a wholesome game, when petting your underage waifu...don't you push that squeeze button.

8 / 10.0 - Graveyard Keeper
Aug 24, 2018

A nice relaxed, and horribly inaccurate, management sim. Live your dream of becoming the owner of your very own graveyard! Really fun and addictive game. I was blown away by the sheer amount of stuff to do. As someone who doesn't typically enjoy this genre, this game managed to keep me addicted well into the night. If you enjoy talking donkeys and morally questionable decisions, this is the game for you.

A real blast to play, and a worthy addition to a beloved series. It has some minor flaws but the general experience is very positive. There's a ton to do and explore, and you get to listen to some great tunes while you do it. Definitely a solid addition to the Switch's library

The Adventure Pals is a really fun little platformer, and while it isn't too unique on a gameplay front, the strong narrative and fun world will definitely keep you going. Anyone who enjoys this genre should be able to enjoy what this game has to offer. Plus you have a giraffe friend, what more could you need?

8.5 / 10.0 - The Alliance Alive
Mar 31, 2018

Honestly I love this game. Never did I feel like I was slogging through just to progress, which is often the case these days. The Alliance Alive is very charming and well thought out, with plenty to help it stand out from other jRPGs, without doing anything significant to turn more traditional fans away. Just for the characters and story alone, i'd recommend this game.

While the game felt a little unpolished in some areas, overall it's a ton of fun. Sword Art Online fans will likely enjoy the immense amount of story, while people just looking for the gameplay can have just as much fun too. Easily the best title in the series by far.

7.5 / 10.0 - Dynasty Warriors 9
Feb 13, 2018

Despite my complaints, the game is still strangely addictive and a blast to play thanks to how smooth the combat feels. Exploration is fairly pointless, yet I found myself doing it for hours and being entertained. The story is a real highlight, seamlessly being able to go through each character's storyline. Dynasty Warriors 9 presents a lot of significant changes that almost make it feel like a spin-off, but I can appreciate what they tried to do and still had many hours of fun with this title. I'm actually excited to see what they do with the series next.

Blossom Tales is a really fun little adventure. Fairly strong presentation, and very fun gameplay that any fan of 2D Zelda games can easily get right into. Despite the similarities to Zelda, I don't feel it lives in its shadow, but instead took the core of what a 2D Zelda game is, and managed to make it its own. I'm genuinely impressed, and happy this game turned out to be so fun.

5 / 10.0 - Creeping Terror
Nov 7, 2017

Creeping Terror was unfortunately just a dull, uninteresting experience through and through. It did absolutely nothing to try and distinguish itself from other horror games, and that is abundantly clear from the first minute of gameplay. The only solid and well done part of the game is the flawless translation.

8.5 / 10.0 - Blue Reflection
Oct 17, 2017

Blue Reflection is a really fun journey. It has an earnest and enjoyable story, strongly supported by a solid cast of characters. Though it was sprinkled with some minor flaws, it was easy to look past them when enjoying the entirety of the game. It's also a really decent length, and doesn't overstay its welcome like some RPGs tend to do. For anyone who enjoys slice-of-life and magical girls, this is definitely a solid pick.
