Kaelyn Daugherty's Reviews
Grapple Dog is an adorable, challenging platformer with a lot of content for the price. It's a great filler if you're waiting on some of the bigger 2022 titles to be released, or if you're wanting a game to play with the kids. I highly recommend checking it out!
DBZ: Kakarot + A New Power Awakens Set is packed full of epic fights, side quests, and a good amount of free DLC. The game looks and plays great on the Switch. I highly recommend it for fans of the series.
Fans of the original will love this updated classic and all of its new features. For those looking for a difficult but fun challenge that includes numerous single and multiplayer game modes, I highly recommend checking out Spelunker HD Deluxe.
What Minute of Islands lacks in gameplay, it makes up for with it's beautiful world and in-depth story telling. If you want a faced-paced, action-packed adventure, Minute of Islands is a game you'll want to skip. But for those of you who want a more relaxing, narrative-based game, I highly recommend checking it out.
Donuts'n'Justice is short and sweet, literally. Dish out some justice and take out waves of enemies in this 2D, horizontal side scroller. With only a few levels, the game can be completed quickly. But I bet you a donut that you have fun playing it.
Skellboy Refractured was a lot more fun than I thought it would be, and there's plenty to do to keep you busy. It isn't too long, but there's a good-sized world to explore, with hidden areas and special items that can only be found later. While I feel it could still use some slight improvements, I definitely recommend checking out this great-looking, entertaining game.
Battle for Neighborville: Complete Edition is a fun, colorful, silly game with a good amount of content to keep the player busy. While the game is older, this updated version is the obvious choice for fans of the series and newcomers alike.
Bob Help Them! is a little game, with a lot of potential. I really liked the concept and feel of the game, it just didn't have enough going on to keep me interested and it felt very repetitive.
Citizens Unite!: Earth x Space is a neat alternative to the original games. Including newly added side quests, characters, and a hidden ending. Citizens Unite gives players a fun new experience that lets them play two awesome games for the price of one.
Heaven's Vault is a relaxing game with an interesting, immersive storyline and a beautiful world to explore. While it lacks some "side activities," it has plenty to offer with its unique puzzle system and tons of replay value.
It just doesn't stand out to me as a "must buy." I will say that there was a patch for some of the bugs in the game, but it could use a little more fine-tuning, in my opinion. YesterMorrow is nowhere near the worst game I've ever played, but it's nowhere near the best.
Descenders ended up being a really fun, challenging game. Even if you're not great at sports games, or you have young children that might not understand the goal, this is one that the whole family can enjoy
Shantae Risky's Revenge is a fun, challenging adventure. Filled with difficult boss battles, tons of tricky puzzles, and all kinds of magic spells to learn. While it may be a little outdated, Risky's Revenge will always be fun to play.
Dex lacks in some areas, but I think the overall experience was pretty enjoyable. Being able to make your own choices and have different outcomes adds a lot of replay value. (Not a game for kids)
Infliction Extended Cut was a fun, scary, mysterious experience. The gameplay itself is very simple, but the story and the things you discover are what make you stay until the end. I enjoyed my time with it.
The Borderlands series was better then I expected. Get over 200 hours of gameplay with this Legendary Collection of the first three Borderlands games. If you're a fan of first-person shooters, then I highly recommend the Borderlands Legendary Collection on Nintendo Switch.
Arrest of a stone Buddha was way too repetitive for me. I didn't get into the story, and the gameplay was overall frustrating. One thing I did enjoy was the retro graphics and the ambient soundtrack. If you want to checkout Arrest of a stone Buddha, I recommend waiting on a sale.
I enjoyed Factotum 90 much more than the original Factotum. Complete with updated graphics and smoother controls, I would say the Nintendo Switch game is the definitive version. I definitely recommend checking it out if you're into puzzle-solving games.
Otherworldly is just a little underwhelming and short for the price. I recommend waiting for a discount if this looks like a game you would be interested in.
I get that this is more like an interactive story than an actual game. But I'd like some more interaction and less story. The reality of Evans's life is just a little too close to home for me, but this would be a good learning experience for someone trying to understand depression and other mental health issues.
