If you're willing to practice and learn its ins and outs, CYGNI: All Guns Blazing becomes an absolutely thrilling shoot 'em up that will stay with you for a very long time. It may be divisive now but let me assure you, genre fans will eventually hold this gem in high regard. ð¥
SteamWorld Heist II builds upon the original in many clever ways to create a sequel that's a ton of fun even 8 whopping years after the first game debuted. Be sure to play it but don't sail in my part of the seas or I may have to take your hat. â
There's certainly some fun to be had in EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6 but don't expect it to offer much noteworthy when you compare it to the previous couple of entries in the series. Playing it did make me excited for WORLD BROTHERS 2, though. ð
Deadlink is a first-person shooter that any gamer can enjoy with rewarding roguelike elements and satisfying action-packed gameplay.
Frontier Hunter: Erza's Wheel of Fortune is a great surprise in the Metroidvania realm with rewarding gameplay that's full of variety.
Magical Delicacy is a cute and enjoyable game that will keep a smile on your face as you explore, gather, and cook up delicious treats.
SPYxANYA: Operation Memories is a diary-worthy game with its adorable world and laidback gameplay that never takes itself seriously.
Metroidvanias with clever movement skills are some of my favourite in the genre and Bo: Path of the Teal Lotus is certainly top-tier.
As one of my new favourite indies of the year, Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure is a joy to play with its unconventional puzzles.
I had a blast with the arcade fun in Satryn DX and will surely boot it up whenever I want to try and beat my previous high score.
Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III is a must-play for any fan of arcade-style retro games, especially those who love co-op.
I'm very happy that folks are releasing collections of classic shoot 'em ups and Over Horizon X Steel Empire is one delicious treat.
As the odd one in the bunch, Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero is impressively fun with its melee-focused combat even if it is a bit tedious.
I had a blast with Retro Revengers and wish more platformers featured a wide variety of characters with matching clever stage designs.
With a ton of superior Soulslikes out there, Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn simply feels unnecessary. It's the sort of game that seems like it was made to be Game Pass filler but even then, there are dozens upon dozens of better games available for the service. ð¥
I enjoyed my time with Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition and will continue to do so thanks to its fun weekly challenges. I hope that this means we'll see indieszero's Retro Game Challenge 1 + 2 Replay release in the west soon. ðº
I'm blown away that Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess seemingly came out of nowhere and it's as awesome of a game as it is. From its exciting strategic combat to its gorgeous moments of downtime all wrapped in outstanding audio, I absolutely can't wait for a sequel. ð¯
I had an entertaining time with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate. If you plan on playing it cooperatively then you'll have a blast but either way, its repetition will sink in eventually so keep that in mind before entering the sewers. ð
I found V Rising to be quite fun and with its many gameplay elements, options, and multiplayer modes; you'll likely find a lot to love here. ð§
The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak is a great start to a brand new arc with its elements ranging from expected to impressively fresh and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next. âïž
