Control: Ultimate Edition on PlayStation 5 is a real treat. Gone are all the technical issues that plagued the game on the old generation of consoles: loading times are lightning fast, textures load instantly, and the game runs smooth as silk. Ray Tracing is also an impressive addition to what is already one of the best games of recent times.

On PS5, The Nioh Collection offers the refined gameplay that allowed Nioh 1 & 2 to distinguish themselves within the soulslike genre, but with the added perks of 4K resolution, 120 fps and quick loading times. The DualSense's haptic feedback also reacts to some of our inputs, but the feeling is that more could have been done. Nevertheless, the Nioh Collection is an excellent package for anyone who wants to experience Team Ninja's take on the genre.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 was already an excellent package on last gen consoles; the next gen hardware allows it to shine even brighter.

The Atelier Mysterious Trilogy Deluxe Pack collects three chapters of the Atelier series released between 2016 and 2018. It also includes all DLCs and some additional content, making it a good choice for people who would like an introduction to the series – but if you come from the recent Ryza games, keep in mind that the Mysterious Trilogy is not as detailed or refined. Finally, the price point seems pretty steep, especially on PC.

8 / 10.0 - ScourgeBringer
May 14, 2021

ScourgeBringer is a beautiful game, that combines an inspired pixel art with a very entertaining gameplay. Unfortunately, the limits of its low-budget nature tend to become apparent after a couple hours of play, when the poor variety starts to sink in.

7.6 / 10.0 - Knockout City
May 27, 2021

Knockout City, as it stands today, is a very entertaining online multiplayer game, easy to learn but not without its own compexities. Future growth is alway fickle and hard to predict when it comes to online games, but Knockout City might be able to carve out its own niche.

6.3 / 10.0 - We Are Football
Jun 14, 2021

While they might share the same genre, We Are Football isn't trying to be the new Football Manager. Winning Streak's game offers a lighter formula, with some quirks here and there like sabotaging the field lights, but the logic that dictates the outcome of matches feels to unstable, and the lack of official licenses might not be welcome by some.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny follows closely in the steps of the excellent Disgaea 5 – perhaps too closely, considering it shows a distinct lack of interest into innovating its formula. The new stylistic approach also fails to convince.

GreeFall: Gold Edition is an update that offers more defined textures and adds 4K and 60fps support. A good addition to Spiders' best game yet.

7.8 / 10.0 - Orcs Must Die! 3
Jul 31, 2021

Orcs Must Die! 3 does not innovate significantly – some might even call it lazy – but is an effective recollection of everything that made Robot Entertainment's franchise so great in the past, turned up to eleven.

Lake is a truly beautiful narrative adventure. The sound design is excellent and the story progresses in a delicate way, with feeling. An oasis of relax in a chaotic world that is always in a hurry.

7.5 / 10.0 - Encased
Sep 14, 2021

Encased is an old school RPG with lots of content and an exciting story. However, it is perhaps a little bit too faithful to the classics.

Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The First Cases is a solid adventure game. Poor mouse and keyboard support detracts from the overall experience, but the product as a whole is a worthy rendition of Agatha Christie's books.

Alan Wake remastered is a good upgrade, both for old fans and new. The new textures and the modernized lighting system make the game a lot prettier to look at. A pity the cutscenes are 30 fps locked and their animations a bit sluggish, though.

7.8 / 10.0 - Killsquad
Oct 22, 2021

Killsquad is a game that evolved significantly since it first arrived onto Early Access two years ago, and the result is a solid twin-stick shooter with looter elements. When it comes to loot drops, the balance is unfortunately a bit off, but overall the game is a fun mix of genres.

Football Manager 2022 is the kind of game that doesn't really need to change. Even if there's no revolution mechanics wise, many aspects show a finer attention to detail, and there are some new factors to consider. A more complete and more fun game, that every fan of the franchise is sure to enjoy.

While it isn't without merits, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition is also plagued by many technical problems. You might relive some nostalgia if you're a fan of the classics, but new players should wait for Rockstar to release some patches before diving in.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel: Dawn of Battle Royale modernizes the formula by changing some of the core mechanics of the card game, and the result is a quicker, faster-paced gameplay that is fun to play. Unfortunately, under the technical aspect the game is not as exciting, with frequent and unexplicable frame drops and a drab open world.
