Critic Reviews for We Are Football
We Are Football is an accessible management sim for all skill levels, and whilst it might not be the best out there, it's still a lot of fun.
We are Football is a love letter to old-school football manager titles, from which inherits virtues and vices. The holistic business management simulation is fun and the boardgame vibes works well on the long run, while the tactics aspect is a little bit clumsy and not so satisfying. Overall, it's a lighter, indie and quite different alternative to Football Manager series, with a great database editor too.

The mistake not to make when testing this game (and you, playing it), is to consider that it is worse than the competition because it has no license. In reality, it is different, because it proposes an approach based entirely on strategy and the ground, freeing itself from any realistic considerations.

While they might share the same genre, We Are Football isn't trying to be the new Football Manager. Winning Streak's game offers a lighter formula, with some quirks here and there like sabotaging the field lights, but the logic that dictates the outcome of matches feels to unstable, and the lack of official licenses might not be welcome by some.

There are some good ideas present and it looks far more promising than most of the Football Manager clones that have come and gone.
We Are Football is an immediate managerial experience that has no ambition (and how it could?) to take the throne of the genre, but it may interest football lovers who are looking for a simplified yet smart gameplay.

We Are Football tries to provide a fun experience of football coaching but has a lot of weaknesses compared to works like Football Manager.

We Are Football is a game that has great potential to face the Football Manager in a few years. However, she faces a long road and hours of practice to climb to the top and break through to a wide audience.
