GOOD - It’s so wonderful to see Nintendo allowing a very adult title on their system. There is no shortage of adventure titles on the Switch, and this is certainly one of the most entertaining. This game should take well over 10 hours to complete and offers a healthy and fair challenge. The major deterrent for buyers is going to be the $39.99 price point, which seems pretty high compared to other games in this genre. Wet Dreams Don’t Dry is filled with laughs, quirky characters, and plenty of humor making fun of the present day world as well as Larry’s past adventures.

5 / 10 - Shadowgate
Apr 19, 2019

MEDIOCRE - The lesson learned here is that there are plenty of great games that do not need remakes. I’d love to see the game designers make a true sequel that plays and looks like the original. In a better world, Super Nintendo owners would have gotten a direct sequel to Shadowgate and this series and others like it would live on today.

GREAT - I’m so happy to see this classic Sega franchise make a comeback. Crowdfunding is surely the best thing to happen to video games in the last decade and as we see more terrific indie games and franchise reboots created with this method. I’m still holding out for new Oasis and Shining Force titles. With Back in the Groove, the story, theme, and dialogue are all rather lackluster and dated, but that doesn’t detract from this being outstanding adventure game that is perfect for the entire family.

WORTH CONSIDERING - Oniken is a solid 2D action/platformer and I had a fun weekend playing through it. However, it doesn’t do anything extraordinary or original. There are plenty of games that overshadow this, but the $9.99 price tag is perfect and for that affordable price, anyone who picks this up will surely get their money’s worth.

5.5 / 10.0 - Toki
Nov 29, 2018

I admire the team that finally got this game finished after nine years. Obviously there are Toki fans out there, but after waiting so long I fear most of them will be disappointed, mostly by the game's length and lack of features. For the classic or casual gamer looking for a great 2D platform/adventure title, there are simply far superior choices at a better value.

7 / 10.0 - Gal Metal

Gal Metal is a very creative music game, but is held back due to lack of song choices and lots of boring sequences in between stages.

9.5 / 10.0 - Alwa's Awakening
Oct 4, 2018

This is a game I can see myself replaying over and over again. The price is outstanding at only $9.99, and every single Switch owner should buy this. Elden Pixels has created a timeless classic with Alwa’s Awakening and I hope to see many more games from them.

8 / 10.0 - Doughlings: Arcade
Sep 22, 2018

Doughlings isn’t going to make any waves in the gaming world, but Turkish developer Hero Concept delivered a solid title, especially since it has been many years since any notable Arkanoid clone has been released. This classic formula equates to fun gamers of any age.

9 / 10.0 - Gone Home
Sep 20, 2018

Don’t let this game’s short time to completion turn you away. Gone Home is a wonderfully told tale that should be experienced by everybody. You should be able to complete this in one sitting and it’s well worth the effort.

8 / 10.0 - Bastion
Sep 10, 2018

Bastion is a steal at $14.99 and wonderful to play on the TV or in handheld mode. The fun factor is really high and there’s a lot of value here since it’s not an overly short title. If you missed out on the original release, now’s your chance to fix that oversight!
