The developers made some severe mistakes in the game's design. Maybe they cut too big a bite, or perhaps they didn't have enough funding to tweak the game. Outcast: A New Beginning is at its most entertaining at the very end, which probably, due to a lack of patience, will be seen by a minimum of players.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown perfectly demonstrates what an excellent platformer game can look like. Ubisoft Montpellier has capitalized on its Rayman experience and breathed new life into the original idea of the Prince of Persia in near-perfect form.

Last Train Home is an exciting combination of genres, reminiscent of the Commandos or Frostpunk series. Still, the game goes its way and is worth playing. The UI design slightly throws a spanner in the works, and the stealth could be more elaborate. However, the game makes up for these flaws with its originality and connection to actual historical events.

The return to the franchise's roots has been a success for the developers. They returned the old mechanics, which is insufficient for a perfect game. Unfortunately, Assassin's Creed Mirage lacks coherent direction and a quality script. After the previous long episodes, however, this is a pretty enjoyable game for a weekend.

6 / 10 - Starfield
Sep 9, 2023

In general, Starfield delivers an above-average combination of mediocre mechanics. There's no denying that Bethesda has created a strong core on which they can build content for months, maybe years to come, through updates and mods. And while Starfield isn't as bad off technologically as it was at the launch of No Man's Sky, it's the vision of future updates that can turn Starfield into something better. To be a game that doesn't just target Bethesda fans but brings a better experience to fans of all space games.

Dave the Diver is a huge surprise this year. The game just came out of nowhere and was fantastic. The seemingly primitive title has much more to it than one might expect, so we strongly recommend not underestimating it. If you like underwater adventures with good humor, this will be the game for you.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox is an enjoyable detective metroidvania that impresses with its story and many exciting puzzles. However, the game suffers from minor bugs and overly excessive pathfinding.

5 / 10 - Scars Above
Feb 28, 2023

Scars Above comes across as an average title. The developers had a lot of good ideas that fell flat due to mediocre execution. The game can be recommended to fans of the Alien movie franchise, but we recommend not to have too high expectations.

5 / 10 - Forspoken
Feb 5, 2023

Forspoken is a game with fantastic potential, but it suffers from many problems. To unlock its full potential, you need to get used to the game's pace and start enjoying the great feeling of speed, but if you play slowly, you'll soon break the game.

8 / 10 - Evil West
Nov 30, 2022

Evil West offers an unconventional combination of Wild West and vampire themes and does it ideally in every way. The game provides an enjoyable combat system combining close and ranged combat. It's a ride you'll enjoy from start to finish, and a similar pace would be the envy of many AAA titles.

1428: Shadows over Silesia is a game with a unique setting that can thrill you. The game suffers in many places from unfinished design decisions, but once you stop struggling with it, you'll enjoy it to the fullest.

Postal 4: No Regerts failed. The game came out of Early Access too early and is completely broken. It tries to ride on the nostalgia of the second installment, but it doesn't work.

6 / 10 - Polda 7
Apr 16, 2022

Polda 7 is a classic Czech point & click adventure game that doesn't push the genre in any way but offers a solid portion of wacky humor that has something to it.

Syberia: The World Before was a success. It's simpler than the previous installments in the series, but what it loses in the challenge it adds to with amazing audio-visuals accentuating the impeccable story. The game is perhaps more like an interactive movie, but it is not a walking simulator.

Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem delivers what you'd expect from a quality DLC. It offers plenty of content and fun and addresses some of the original's shortcomings. As a result, we can recommend it to all fans of retro shooters. However, younger and more demanding players will hardly be interested.

5 / 10 - Serious Sam 4

Serious Sam 4 takes a good care of the series' legacy and fans will be happy. But the visual style hardly meets modern standards and level-design is also a bit boring.

Children of Morta is exceptional game in many ways and it is pushing whole rogue-like genre to its modern take on original game-design. You can expect touching story line, great audio-visual quality and also well designed gameplay. But as it is typical in the genre, you should expect repetitive enviroment and some balancing issues too.

Mortal Kombat 11 is the perfect next entry to the series, which raises the classic elements of the fighting game to a higher level. You can blame title that it feels less brutal than the previous iterations, or that on some points it resembles a bit of mechanics from mobile games. But its foundation is clean, polished and fun. For fans of the series, this is a "must have" title. On the other hand it's a shame to see usage of grindwall mechanism in a 60$ game.
