This isn’t your typical shooter! Instead of fighting in a war-torn country or against alien civilisation, you’re fighting amongst chairs, beds, kids toys and furniture within a massive house. You’re a toy… well, actually you’re an action figure with the single goal to protect multiple strange coloured cores known as hyper-cores that are located around each environment.
Very very valet is unique blend of quick decision making and even quicker reflexes as you strive to deliver parked cars to a parking lot and then back to your customers again once they decide to leave – as quickly and as efficiently as possible in this mad-cap parking experience.
A few months back I picked up Ark Survival Evolved on the Nintendo Switch. Before I could even pop the cartridge into my Switch, my twitter feed was flooded with posts on how awful the game was… and how poorly it was ported. I had already bought it at this point and wasn’t to be deterred by the posts. One of the things that drew me to this title was the ability to tame and ride dinosaurs, which I found such an exciting mechanic.
If you’re looking for a great obstacles course platformer, then look no further than Rogue Singularity. It will test your platforming skills and navigation abilities to the limit as you push boundaries, squeeze past hazards and dodge other environmental obstacles. Whether you’re playing for a few minutes, or a few hours there’s tons of fun to be had.
Battle Supremacy: Ground Assault is a great tank combat simulator. There’s a lot to sink your teeth into here. Between the extensive single player options, online multiplayer, and the wide variety of tank customization, it’s unlikely you’ll get bored with this game. It has a few issues, but nothing that holds the game back from being enjoyable. If you’re interested in creating your own tanks and using them to take down your enemies, then Battle Supremacy: Ground Assault is definitely worth picking up.
There’s no denying that Invisigun Reloaded has a ton of content to offer players. Completing the campaign for all 12 characters will take a fair amount of time and there’s tons of different options to customize matches to play with friends or bots. On top of all that you can take your new found skills online and play with people all around the world. The only issue I can see with Invisgun is that some people may get tired of Hero’s Journey’s puzzle like nature. It’s fun at first, but eventually it does start to get repetitive as Invisigun is better as a multiplayer experience. Overall, Invisigun Reloaded is a unique stealth shooter, that will test your limits with its challenging mechanics and rewarding gameplay.
The story in Wunderling is about a magical kingdom with talking, walking vegetables, lead by a unique hero called Carrot Man who is on a quest to save Princess Pea from an evil witch and her talking cow. What first appears to be a typical platformer is soon turned on its head as the lead character bounds off the screen, and you soon realise he’s not the main focus here. Instead, the Evil Witch wants her hero to thwart Carrot Man’s reign. So after one of her minions is head stomped Mario style into the ground, she decides to take steps to stop Carrot Man’s advance and creates her hero from the fallen goon… she names him Wunderling!
Mini Motor was released in 2011 on Android, and I remember it well… After purchasing a new phone I was looking for a little racer to download, and I came across Mini Motor which reminded me so much of Micro Machines. Fast forward to the present day; I noticed a few weeks ago that it had appeared on the Nintendo Switch eShop with a new name and fresh coat of paint, so I needed to check it out again!
Playing CARRION on the Nintendo switch reminded me so much of one of my favourite science fiction horror films from the ’80s by John carpenter: The Thing. Crawling about and feeding on the human population in a military facility, all while searching for bio-capsules to gain new abilities which allow you to gain access to new areas and lay siege to them is engaging and fun, albeit with a frustrating omission of the map screen which makes navigation difficult at times. Let’ take a trip into the twisted world of CARRION to see if this is a title worth owning.
At beginning of the game you meet Anobi who will appear with a pink gem and summon you into the world of Glyph, telling you to find the lost temple of AARU… Here you’ll be taken through a series of tutorial stages to learn the basics of movement and your unique abilities.
Sam & Max are back to their old tricks again with a brand new adventure across five unique and exciting episodes. You might end up talking to aliens, defending against a zombie apocalypse, or trying to summon a demon from the beyond to scare a crazed Santa with an uzi – there’s never a dull moment.
Claw is back, up to their old tricks again, causing havoc across the globe with new technologies to cause panic and unrest. Thankfully our new agent has been given the green light to intercept our enemies head-on in his high-tech vehicle called the sceptre. It has the ability to transform into several different configurations allowing it to travel on sea, air and land. While your driving skills will be at the front of each mission you’ll never be outgunned as you’ll able to pick up new weapon attachments and blast your enemies away with precision shots!
Overall, I enjoyed my time with Boreal Blade. It’s an interesting fighting game that ends up being a ton of fun. The cell shaded visual design work really well with its overall presentation, and the soundtrack keeps you focused with the beating of drums and screams of helpless victims. I wish there had of been a single player mode and a few more customization options at the very beginning of the game, but still there’s tons to unlock and enjoy here. The controls can take a little while to get used to, but it’s still a unique fighting experience on the Nintendo Switch and one that I think is a solid investment for fighting game fans. It has a few issues, but it’s definitely still worth a try.
Atomicrops is about farming, planting seeds, watering crops and trying to survive from an onslaught of intruders that are trying to eat them and kill you. Don’t fret though as you’re not unarmed. In fact, you have your trusty pea-shooter on hand that will allow you to protect your crops and obliterate your enemies.
Whipseey and The Lost Atlas is a decent title, for a short trip if you’re looking for a cheap platformer. Sadly, I felt the game never evolved into something special. I see a lot of untapped potential here and the makings of a game that could have been great.
From a presentation’s standpoint, Neon Drive checks all the right boxes. The neon visual design is absolutely gorgeous and is accompanied by a stellar soundtrack. Sadly, the core gameplay is frustrating and isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Neon Drive is certainly an example of style over substance.
In 2018, Eclipse Games bought out Super Toy Cars: a game I played back then and felt it wasn’t refined enough to stand out from other racers in the genre. However, Eclipse Games are at it again with the second entry in the series, Super Toy Cars 2. Is this a better racer though or does it suffer the same engine problems as its older brother? Let’s find out.
