While its immediate sequel, Yakuza 5, did many of these things in a more impressive fashion, Yakuza 4 laid the important groundwork to make it all possible.

5.5 / 10.0 - Let's Sing Country
Oct 28, 2019

Let's Sing Country is a totally fine karaoke game that has a pretty lacking tracklist. It has made the conversion to Switch just fine as it's easy to read the lyrics even in handheld mode and the mobile phone app means you don't need microphones to have fun. However, there's just not enough songs to make it worth buying for most would-be singers.

Ultimately, the Complete Edition is the best way to experience this spin-off, as it is a solid game in its own right and serves as an excellent, if different, primer for No More Heroes 3.

From cute, but overly simplistic visuals to fish behavior being off and getting caught on the decorative items, it feels like what it really is: a simplified tycoon sim with a lot of heart. It can’t rival the best in the genre, but players can make a pretty awesome aquarium within its constraints, so it ultimately delivers what was promised even if it doesn’t exceed those promises.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive still has almost all of the same issues with its core gameplay, but the PC version is the definitive way to play the final chapter of the horror series.

Returning fans will remember why they enjoyed the series, but they will also realize why it hasn’t been missed all that much in the past five years without an entry.

7.5 / 10.0 - GRID Autosport
Sep 29, 2019

So many of Grid Autosport's strengths, from its racing style to the focus on single-player gameplay, fit perfectly on the Nintendo Switch. Upon playing this port, it makes a ton of sense as to why Codemasters ported over the five-year-old game rather than one of its more recent offerings. It isn't a classic by any means, but it is full of content and is a racing game that everybody can enjoy.

Thanks to one of Bandai Namco’s best localization efforts and the fantastic work of both Level-5 and Studio Ghibli, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is still a joy to experience almost a decade after it was originally released.

NHL 20 is an enjoyable hockey game with great core fundamentals and new player movement to fall back on, but it’s definitely not a must-buy entry if you are currently happy with the version you own.

NBA 2K20‘s fantastic feel on the courts and how its main modes work as advertised are the most important parts. Some of the secondary additions might be lacking when compared to the polish seen in the new cinematic story mode, but they still serve their purpose to flesh out the package.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist: Link Evolution definitely skews toward the hardcore fan that has kept up with the card game over the past decade, but its campaign still offers a lot for those that dropped out after the original series or are interested in seeing what’s up with 5D’s or ZEXAL.

While Yakuza 3 definitely feels a bit dated from a gameplay perspective, its storytelling has stood the test of time.

It isn’t often that a game truly succeeds as art, but every part of Oninaki goes back into its core motif and that’s why it is an essential action RPG.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall is one of the most unique 4X games released in recent memory, and that is great news for a genre that can be a bit stale at times.

Ultimately, your enjoyment of Metal Wolf Chaos XD will come down to how much you are willing to stick with some archaic design choices in order to see more of the ridiculous story and the few levels that do hold up.

While many of the annoying glitches and wonky AI will hopefully get patched out of Madden NFL 20 there still isn’t a good reason to recommend it if you have purchased any recent years of the game.

Stranger Things 3: The Game won't appeal to fans of the television show as it's a frustrating experience that reminds you of all of the high points of the third season but never actually reaches them itself. Instead you are stuck with a bunch of dull fights to get through, bland puzzles to solve, and reading pieces of dialogue from the show without any sort of performance by the actors. Don't tarnish your memories of the third season by playing this.
