65 / 100 - Skate City
May 10, 2021

Skate City is nice and offers very intuitive systems, with a list of well-balanced challenges that value the learning of different skills. However, as it is an experience initially thought for mobile, it offers very little in terms of aesthetics, is repetitive and has limited and uninspired content.

65 / 100 - King of Seas
Jun 6, 2021

King of Seas is a good piracy-themed game, but it doesn't seem to have found a perfect balance between a solid management system and engaging, exciting gameplay. It has its aesthetic limitations and merits in an adventurous narrative, but it lacks repetitiveness and frustratingly tedious passages.

Guilty Gear -Strive- is everything fans of the franchise had hoped for and maybe a little more. It brings precise and refined mechanics, a neat look and a narrative that should close some of the arcs opened in previous games.

The Eternal Castle [Remastered] is a big trap for the unsuspecting as it seduces them through the prism of nostalgia and, when you least expect it, delivers something new, captivating, a bit extravagant, full of retro personality, with some irritating elements (like an unresponsive gameplay system), but with an above-average narrative and aesthetic experience.

75 / 100 - Graveyard Keeper
Jul 13, 2021

Graveyard Keeper is visually well resolved and brings one of the best soundtracks in the genre. Its story flirts with moral aspects like few games dare, and its mission and progression system has its uninspired moments, but it's enough to get us involved and convince us to move on to the next grave.

Where The Heart Leads offers a plot as simple as captivating, with an intimate scale, lots of dialogue and some very significant choices to be made by the player. With an intriguing artistic style and greatly simplified mechanics, it should please those interested in interactive narrative experiences, but those looking for action and a far-fetched gameplay should steer clear of this game.

80 / 100 - Cannon Brawl
Jul 20, 2021

Surprisingly fun, accessible, intuitive and addictive, Cannon Brawl brings polished gameplay, good visuals and enough modes to please those who already know and like real-time strategy games, and even for novices who have always been looking for a good entry into this world.

Batbarian: Testament of the Primordials is everything you'd expect from a good metroidvania and has a rich world to explore, great text and beautiful audiovisual compositions. If some aspects of the gameplay seem to need a little more polishing, the overall experience is challenging and thought-provoking, and a warrior's relationship with a bat, if it once seemed unlikely, now makes perfect sense.

90 / 100 - Omno
Aug 5, 2021

Very gently, Omno is a great dreamy journey through a peaceful and enchanting world. With an open narrative, simplified gameplay and artistic beauty, it is a cohesive and simple work, and even if it's short, it turns out to be unforgettable.

80 / 100 - Black Book
Aug 6, 2021

Black Book offers a very cohesive mix of turn-based combat from classic RPGs and a deck composition system characteristic of cardgames. A model that mixes with a good narrative full of possibilities and a well-articulated artistic style, although the player support and complementary mechanics seem to complicate things too much.

80 / 100 - Monster Harvest
Aug 31, 2021

Monster Harvest is a welcome mix between farming games and turn-based little monster battles, using an artistic style consistent with the project and with a traditional and very well executed gameplay model. It's fun, addictive and challenging without seeming punitive or overly complicated.

85 / 100 - Hoa
Sep 2, 2021

Hoa proposes an intense experience, sensitive and full of subtleties, a fun and comfortable fairy tale. With a very short duration by today's standards, it never gets to explore all its potential in terms of gameplay, but it is touching, beautiful and a true sensory experience full of personality.

55 / 100 - Recompile
Sep 12, 2021

Conceptually captivating, Recompile offers a solid narrative, with a unique and aesthetically well-presented setting. However, the gameplay fails in almost every aspect, with problems in combat mechanics, puzzle solving and platform progression, which undermine all qualities and overshadow the project's potential.

F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch stands out among metroidvanias for its excellent setting, solid gameplay and an engaging narrative, even if it's full of clichés. It ends up slipping in the rhythm, in some design choices and in some technical aspect, but it has enough qualities to become a must for fans of the genre.

Diablo II: Resurrected brings back, 21 years later, all the best qualities of one of the greatest classics of all time, the one that set the standards for the genre. While updating artistic issues to today's standards, it retains the essence of both gameplay and design, and even after all this time, it is still amazing.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is far from being one of the most inventive games of the genre and brings several problems, such as the absence of game modes and content, laughable exploration and a gameplay model that doesn't appeal to everyone. Still, it's fluid, beautiful, responsive and a true aesthetic and narrative delight for fans of the franchise.
