Sludge Life 2 is a very interesting adventure into a morally questionable future. Its tendency towards total freedom for exploration is a double-edged sword, as it also leads the player to be lost even when it comes to realizing what is interactive or not. However, even so, the game brings an interesting social perspective marked by “living on the margins” in a society that ironically only moves forward even in ruins.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is a honorable conclusion to the Crossbell and Erebonia arcs. Though it's not recommended for those who haven't experimented the previous games yet, the title offers a beautiful emotional catarsis to the challenges the characters faced so far.

Love Shore is a visual novel with an enticing and well written plot but, curiously, its gameplay leaves a little to be desired. The lack of quality of life elements already considered trivial in the market to the point of being default features in visual novel engines cuts down a little of the player control. The result is a really interesting story with an inconvenient gameplay that should be fixed to offer a much better experience.

Harmony: The Fall of Reverie is an experimental visual novel with relevant social themes and an unorthodox concept of narrative navigation. Though there are many elements that deserved more polishment, I'd still say the sum of its parts leads to a positive result and it's worth diving into this story.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective remains a great adventure title that deserves attention thanks to its inventive way of dealing with a ghost's exploitability and agency. Couple that with the creator's well-written crazy twists and here's an unmissable game back on today's consoles.

Amarantus is a highly recommended visual novel about messy relationships and the struggle to make the difference in a world of complex choices. Its nuanced style may be a double-edged swords depending on the reader but the experience is remarkable and merits attention.

Raiden III x Mikado Maniax brings back a Moss classic with various new music. It's worth a shot as a good example of its genre, and, even with the feeling something better than individual re-releases of this and Raiden IV could have been done, it's a title that offers exactly what it intends to and is quite fun.

Nukitashi presents itself as a unique, well-written, and poignant comedy experience. It doesn’t shy away from its adult themes and, instead, embraces them to deliver a memorable narrative. Qruppo’s first game is a must-play that hits all the right notes when considering character development, theming, humor writing, and presentation.
Skautfold: Usurper is a reasonable metroidvania in its proposal and fulfills what is expected of a game of the genre. However, the various small issues stack up to keep the experience from standing out within a market that has much better games already available. At the moment, it is only recommended for those who are very fond of the style.

Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection is a collection of three high-quality dungeon crawler-style RPGs that remain an immersive experience in a hostile and exciting world even years after their original release on DS. However, this is not the highlight of what the franchise has to offer and it is clear that the games had a difficult adaptation to the reality of a single screen.

Kunado Chronicles is a good example of what visual novels can do with their stories. Dealing with a unique concept of future in which technology regressed, we have the opportunity to see the efforts of a group trying to rethink a warrior society and prepare them for an era of peace. With interesting themes and an ambientation that resembles feudal Japan, this is an easy recommendation for fans of the genre.

Nightmare Reaper is a roguelite boomer shooter that knows how to exploit the advantages of its elements to provide a frantic action experience. The title isn't perfect, especially having problems with its attempt to tell a story that could be better implemented, but it's a game that will easily appeal to fans of shooters.

Mask of the Rose is a visual novel with a plot that plays with an over-the-top supernatural situation in a well-developed context of a Victorian society. Trying to offer a lot of freedom to the player action but respecting a somewhat restrictive plot core, the work has good and bad points to it but it's a good choice for those who love interactive narratives.

Loop8: Summer of Gods is a very different RPG from the usual market. Despite having some glitches and polishing details that considerably weaken the experience, it is a type of game that people more enthusiastic about the genre or for simulators well focused on the evolution of attributes can enjoy.

Though a few plot details sound a little too forced, Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is a perfect evolution of its predecessor. The return of the kids to the battlefield is a much heavier experience and represents a significant quality leap for the narrative and gameplay, making this a must-play for RPG fans.

AKAI ITO HD Remaster is a yuri visual novel with high relevance within its genre and it's very good to finally have the game in the West. However, unfortunately, the English edition is quite far from the ideal quality and it needs many adjustments to shine as it deserves.
