Sincerely speaking, Hatsune Miku - The Planet Of Wonder And Fragments Of Wishes would have everything it takes to be a strong recommendation for fans of minigames and Vocaloids, were it not for the absurd price for this collection. This charismatic title can please a vast range of people, especially those who love relatively simple experiences with a focus on unlockable achievements, but, if not acquired during a sale, its content doesn't justify the price.

Even with caveats, Tales from Candleforth is a title that can please point-and-click fans besides offering a good horror atmosphere and varied puzzles. However, even with its compelling and immersive story, the big issue of the game is that it seems incomplete, so I hope that little by little we get other tales that are part of the fictional town Candleforth's folklore book.

[...]the fandisk is yet another quality title within the girls love demography and should be checked out by people who want to understand a little more about the nuances of romance within the LGBT+ umbrella.

OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbandos is yet another good romantic comedy option within the girls love demography but at the same time explores romance nuances within the LGBT+ umbrella; besides that, the optional extra content that can be obtained separately outside Steam helps to add more depth and authenticity to Akuru's and Ren's relationship.

Princess Peach: Showtime, with clear inspiration from Kirby games, brings an adventure marked by accessibility and diversity. It is, above all, a show of choreography, music, costumes and sets that are eye-catching, without falling into more of the same by always presenting us with fair and well-thought-out challenges with its extensive content. Even if Peach's triumphant return to the spotlight is affected by the ravages of time, which has unfortunately come to the Switch, this theatrical adventure is a good choice not only for fans of the most famous princess in video games, but also for people who want to have fun with casual and fun gameplay.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is a beautiful game designed to convey an important message about friendship and, above all, environmental preservation and eco-sustainability. To achieve this, Raw Fury sought inspiration from the charismatic work of Tove Jansson, emulating all the charm and warmth of the Moomin series. Even with the occasional setbacks related to poor performance on the Switch, the adventure is enjoyable and accessible to all ages.

9 / 10.0 - Unicorn Overlord
Mar 8, 2024

Besides the overflowing charisma that's traditional to Vanillaware, Unicorn Overlord delivers an excellent and complete content for real time strategy. It's a shame that game doesn't offer Portuguese support, which may keep people who don't have much understanding in English away, and that some narrative events just happen "for the sake of progressing the story," without much development, but even with those qualms, we get an ambitious RPG that's very rich in content and worth checking out for enthusiasts of the genre.

7 / 10.0 - Ego's Spark
Mar 3, 2024

Leaving eroges' sexual content aside, Ego’s Spark is a visual novel about the unlikely relationship between an android and a human who are adverse to sex and now live together under the same roof. Even if the game doesn't excel in the audiovisual presentation, the art and music are adequate, offering a pleasant and fun reading.

8.5 / 10.0 - Shanghai Summer
Feb 26, 2024

Even with some issues and a simplicity that can be a double-edged sword, this adventure title is a beautiful invitation for a reflection. Maybe Shanghai Summer isn't the answer to our problems, but it can definitely be that push to finally face our past regrets and yearnings for the future.

Though I consider Valis: The Fantasm Soldier Collection III a collection made only for the oldschool fans of the franchise[...], it's impossible to deny Edia managed to revive Yuuko's saga as promised. Unfortunately, the blunders in the emulation persist since the first collection as well as a lack of polish in the English subtitles. At least, we finally have an official localization for a title left as an exclusive to the Japanese territory for 37 years, making Collection III the last piece for those, who like me, love one of the most incredible series ever created by the already-defunct Telenet.

My Lovey-Dovey Demon may not be, in my opinion, one of the best ebi-hime works but it has some strong points and accomplishes its purpose of an unpretentious and cute plot within the romcom genre. However, the fact it doesn't develop into something more complex at some moments turns the reading into a tiresome, monotonous effort, making the visual novel a niche, limited recommendation.

The Curse of Kudan may not be a long visual novel but it offers, during its approximate 10 hours of content, three different endings to the intriguing mystery that gave birth to the urban legend, also impacting its replay factor. Though the romance between the girls is the end result in the game, this element is a mere consequence of investigating the cases presented in the story. Though it has some small issues in the plot development, mainly in quite obvious choices during the deduction stages, this is an excellent visual novel for the Switch library, especially for the fans of girls love.

For those who are fervorous fans of Touhou, Koumajou Remilia II: Stranger’s Requiem is yet another quality spin-off with a darker approach to the seventh game of the franchise, Perfect Cherry Blossom. However, due to the persisting issues in its punitive gameplay and the extremely linear stages, it's hard to recommend this Touhouvania to people who only love metroidvanias — for those, Touhou Luna Nights ends up as a better example of its genre.

Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate - Definitive Edition is a competent visual novel that mixes various gameplay elements to deliver an intriguing and immersive narrative focused on time manipulation. Even though some elements, like the wonky controls and a few visual bugs, may be a small headache in certain moments, they are easily compensated by the excellent narrative the adventure offers, making it hard to stop [playing].

Persona 5 Tactica brings a tactical adventure rich in customization that does not leave aside the elements of the series on which it is based, with good accessibility in terms of difficulty, covering different levels of players of tactical titles. Exuding its own charisma and style, typical of the Persona subseries, Persona 5 Tactica features excellent art and sound direction, with emphasis on the dubbing that features the original voice actors reprising their roles.

Yohane the Parhelion -Blaze in the Deepblue- has a major underutilized potential, be it as a metroidvania or as a product for Love Live! fans. From scenery and enemies that get tiresome over time to the few memorable tracks, the only strengths [of the game] end up as the 2D illustrations and the humorous dialogues dubbed by the animation's original cast. Obviously, this doesn't mean Yohane's adventure doesn't have its highlights, especially as a good entrypoint for metroidvania newcomers, but there are better titles in the market for the fans of the genre.

6.5 / 10.0 - CRYMACHINA
Oct 25, 2023

Crymachina stays on the fence in many aspects, but it doesn't manage to be as bad as it seems, as long as the player keeps in mind its weak points. However, it's a mistake to regard it as a spiritual successor to Crystar, especially when it comes to battles, narrative and ambientation, but these latter two aspects, which carry the concept of the game, manage to sustain the arduous (and unbalanced) task to explore the diverse sections of the Eden spaceship.

Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient Express [...] faithfully follows the book it's based and, at the same time, alters— in a very natural way, it's worth pointing out — some elements to make it an adventure worthy of being a XXI century mystery. Besides, the addition of a new character to dive into a case that, in the book, is only mentioned briefly, is a great gift for the fans of the Queen of Crime, not to mention the brand new mystery centered on Joanna Locke herself that is a postgame campaign.

Fate/Samurai Remnant, although it is a victim of the Switch's technical performance, is another excellent RPG recently added to the console's library. With a dense narrative that lives up to Type-Moon's renowned franchise, combined with different systems that enrich the combat and exploration of a reimagined feudal Japan, we have an adventure that both regular Fate fans and newcomers can enjoy without fear.
