Overall, Scholar of the First Sin is a fantastic upgrade and worth the purchase if you never had the chance to play Dark Souls 2 on PC or current gen consoles. Even if you did play through it before, the DLC alone is worth checking out. The visual upgrades are rather stunning if you haven't played on PC, and the new enemy positions offer veteran players a nice surprise.

75 / 100 - Slow Down, Bull
Apr 26, 2015

If the exploit I found hadn't been so game breaking, I'd have rated Slow Down, Bull higher. It's a very decent game for the price, and I'm happy to see more titles like this coming from well-known studios.

84 / 100 - JumpJet Rex
Apr 28, 2015

Overall this is a really great indie title for anyone interested in speedrunning or a game they can jump in and out of quickly. It's hard to not hate dinosaurs in space, especially when they have jetboots strapped on and are trying to save an entire planet from destruction; JumpJet Rex is no exception.

It's a shame really, because this game and any other with Shadowrun in its name has so much content to draw from. Missions, equipment, rules, it could translate to the digital world quite well.

[G]ive it a download if you like exploration and puzzles but maybe wait until there's an update before you give it a shot.

63 / 100 - Toren
May 25, 2015

For now, Toren is suited for someone looking for a story-centric game for the weekend, a younger audience looking for an easier game, or anyone looking at getting into game design. This game is a great example of what you can hope to accomplish early on, and should act as a great portfolio piece for anyone involved. It's worth the $11 though just barely, and will delight anyone looking for a great art style to enjoy as they sort of mindlessly solve simple problems.

86 / 100 - Rocket League
Jul 20, 2015

Rocket League can offer some invaluable fun and playtime. It's hard to beat solid mechanics and a sense of camaraderie you usually only get from playing sports. So gear up, head out to the pitch, and score some goals for all the kids who wished they owned Tyco RC cars years ago.

If you're looking for a quick and simple puzzle game to play on your laptop during breaks in class, or simply want a relaxing way to unwind at the end of the day, this is a decent buy.

Road to Gehenna is fun, smart, and a great reason to check out The Talos Principle if you haven't yet.

70 / 100 - The Swindle
Aug 14, 2015

[D]on't let [the score] deter you if you enjoy other games like Spelunky or even Mark of the Ninja. If that's the case then The Swindle could quite possibly be just the game for you.

80 / 100 - Galak-Z
Aug 17, 2015

Galak-Z does a great job of proving why arcade shooters can still be quite fun. The crazy flight controls feel good, enemy variety is spot on, and the laser customization really lets you shoot the way you want to.

Warlocks vs Shadows is a fun indie game that has a lot of variety to offer, but falls short in important areas like online capabilities and replay value. If you have spare controllers and friends to play with locally, this could easily be a great game to grind through over the weekend and then boot up occasionally for some PvP action.

70 / 100 - Back to Bed
Sep 17, 2015

Ultimately, Back To Bed is just sorely missing content even at the already low purchase price. It's a great idea with some fantastic art and a few really cool puzzles… but that's it. If you enjoy puzzle games and like the aesthetic, then Back To Bed is still priced very well and worth your money. Not a lot of studios can really portray that surreal feeling, but Bedtime Digital absolutely has and their game stands out because of it. However if you're looking for a difficult puzzler that will take you longer than an hour or two, keep looking.

[I]f you like twin-stick shooters or arcadey indie games, do yourself a favour and download the demo for Assault Android Cactus. If you think it's worth your time and money, pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

There is an absolute ton of payoff in this final episode, as there should be, and Telltale does an amazing job of wrapping up the season with laughs, tears, and some epic loot for these would-be vault hunters.

Reload is much better than the mobile version and it’s a fun way to kill some time; however, being this unoriginal isn’t really going to turn any heads.

There's definitely a market for this game, but I completely understand why so many long-time fans are so upset.

Unfortunately, even cool moments and great set pieces aren't enough to save any game from a serious lack of depth.
