Hellboy: Web of Wyrd is a wasted opportunity to praise the great hero that Hellboy is. All combat mechanics work as well as possible, but they lack a lot due to their simplicity. The rogue-like aspects leave the feeling of having been made in a hurry and without any intention of elaborating them very deeply. This feeling of emptiness remains whenever we traverse the huge and repetitive maps or defeat the same enemies over and over again.

AEW Fight Forever, with some bugs, a very weak career mode, a limited number of fight modes and a very small number of fighters, is far from being a "rival" wrestling company game . It's sad to note that the entrance music and the entrances of certain fighters are present, however the fighters themselves are not present in the game and, in some cases, they appear as DLC on the launch day of the game itself! Even though I think it's a pretty fun game, there wasn't a single moment where I felt really hooked on the game, much less excited about playing it. It's not that it's bad, it's just not "there yet". Perhaps this is the beginning of a great game franchise, but this initial entry does not go down in history without a doubt.

This was perhaps one of the games I most wanted to play in 2024. The theme of samurai in 19th century Japan is something that fascinates me immensely and, despite being a theme in many games over the last few years, this title had awakened me something through the trailers. However, the end result was disastrous, with terrible performance and gameplay that only gets away with it thanks to the combat (which, in turn, becomes repetitive very easily). The story is interesting but the way it is told is ineffective. which makes it difficult to interpret and at the end of the day, the only thing left is the combat which, perhaps even interesting for fans of “Soulslike”, however they won’t find the same difficulty as they do in a “NIOH”, for example In the end, Rise of the Ronin ends up being just another samurai game without a unique identity, which will only be recognized for being mediocre.

The “Cottage Living” expansion for the Sims 4, presents some new and interesting items and concepts, but it is assumed mainly as a wasted opportunity to insert different content that makes us want to stick to this title in the long run. Fundamentally, the diversity of animals, clothes or furniture proves to be insufficient to address our perception of being facing a new stage in The Sims 4. This aspect could be something addressed with the new city (which is even the best aspect of this DLC) , but it's lack of identity towards rural life does not allow a complete interiorization of what is objectified.

Phantom Breaker: Omnia can't be called a bad game, however there are certain aspects that could be optimized. In a fighting title, it is problematic to have stronger, faster, and more damaging characters than others. A fight game needs to consider a delicate balance, which is not always noted in this particular experience. Despite this, the game presents a fairly simple yet gratifying fighting mechanic. The inclusion of 3 different fighting styles is, without a doubt, one of the better aspects providing a great variety to the game (still, it's not something new, or better implemented in other games).

Demon Slayer could be without a doubt one of the best anime-inspired games in recent times. You can count on a story 100% faithful to the anime. The title considers very detailed, beautiful graphics, a captivating soundtrack and a simple, yet exciting and challenging combat system. However it loses a lot of arguments when it comes to the insipid aspect of exploration, the uninteresting online mode and especially in regards tonthe small diversity of characters. The improvement opportunities are significant, but if you are fans of anime and in particular Demon Slayer, you can count on an experience that lives up to the name.

MARVEL vs CAPCOM Fighting Collection Arcade Classics is a great opportunity to play the classics that inspired many current fighting games. Due to its unbalanced difficulty and lack of support for new players, I cannot recommend it to anyone who wants to get to know the series, but it is perhaps a way to relive something that was already experienced in childhood in the form of nostalgia. For those who are curious, it might be better to play the most recent titles like Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

Shin-Chan: Shiro and the Coal Town is a journey through time. Playing it reminded me of the different episodes of the anime I watched with my parents and the laughs it gave me. The beautiful environment with an open world full of life, items to catch, fish to catch and plants to harvest and sow make this a pleasant experience for anyone looking to have a good time. Unfortunately, this good time turns into stress when we start doing the main and secondary missions that start to be too repetitive and require too many of the same items, which leads us to have to waste time wandering around the map for hours and hours on end.

New Tales From The Borderlands, was an unexpected announcement. For those who loved the first title, like me, it was another game to end on my wishlist. It definitely presents itself with a completely different personality: funnier, more interaction between the characters, a completely new story and with a new cast (but with some familiar faces). However, the lack of "real" gameplay is quite notorious, the secondary characters have few moments of "fame" and their story is quite confusing. New Tales From The Borderlands is far from being a reasonable game, on the contrary, it is even a must-have game for anyone who loves this genre and especially anyone who is a fan of the original Borderlands series, as well as the adaptation made by Telltale Games.

Capcom managed to revive the franchise after countless mistakes in the past. This is, without a shadow of a doubt, the definitive version of the 2006 title and replaces it in a very faithful way and considering the necessary improvements to be in line with the current reality of the industry. Some bugs that were also in the original title are still evident and the change of some characters may lead many people to turn up their noses about this remastered, but we believe that it is not something crucial for us to have an extraordinary experience playing this masterpiece. Let's hope that Capcom decides to do the same with the second title in the series, and who knows, launch the third for Sony consoles! Here's a tip!

8 / 10.0 - EA Sports UFC 5
Nov 28, 2023

Although not perfect, EA SPORTS UFC 5 is perhaps the best MMA combat game to date. The new combat additions, the numerous combat modes and the career mode, which despite being the same as the previous one, has not gotten any worse. Only a few minimal technical issues and the number of fighters present in the game remain to be improved, which will probably be added throughout the life of this title.

We've played a lot of war games, some were really good, others were just horrible and my expectations for this game were a little low, also because lately the series has promised a lot and delivered little. However, we were surprised quite positively. The story is simply incredible and maybe one of the best if not the best we've ever played in a Call of Duty game (yes, we dare say it's better than the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2). It has a bit of everything, drama, plot twists, anxious moments and plenty of enthusiasm. The multiplayer is well polished (except the respawn), with everything to improve even more over the coming months. In general, Activision has once again shown that it manages to reboot without tarnishing the image of a game that was once recognized by many as the best of the year in question.

8 / 10.0 - Overwatch 2
Oct 20, 2022

Overwatch 2 came to fix some problems of the first title, improved the graphics, the gameplay and brought some new characters. The bugs that it presents are correctable and, although annoying, they do not harm the fun that the game offers to the players. Was it really necessary to release a new game instead of just doing an update? Not really. However the content is there and there is really a (minimally) significant improvement compared to the first title.

8 / 10.0 - Infernax
Mar 7, 2022

Infernax manages to bring out the best of each genre in an adventure, quite well done. It presents itself as an experience that has a challenging gameplay and at the same time able to entertain everyone. With plenty of side missions and choices that change the course of the story, this is without a doubt a game that brings countless hours of gameplay and fun. Don't be fooled by the graphical appearance of the game, Infernax is undoubtedly a must-play for fans of the 16Bits era and eagerly awaiting a challenge worthy of their talents!

It took 17 years to wait, which in the end were totally worth it. The end result, despite its small problems that are easily resolved, is everything fans ever wanted and dreamed of. Although its story is not as relevant as that of other titles, I feel that it is excellent in this way. I feel that this game is in complete parallel with Dragon Ball Kakarot, that is, one with more competitive gameplay and the other with a more stripped-down story and gameplay more focused on it. I would venture to say that this might be the best Dragon Ball game of all time and that from now on, it will be difficult to build something better than this title. Sparkling! ZERO will certainly remain forever in the history of anime-inspired video games.

8.5 / 10.0 - One Piece Odyssey
Feb 2, 2023

One Piece Odyssey manages to bring together the best of both worlds: a wonderful exploration experience through the most important anime's settings, as well as a very well-developed combat experience. The difficulty level is quite low, allowing anyone interested to finish the game without any difficulty. However, I can't recommend the game to anyone looking to get to know the world of One Piece, since the "flashback" moments are very confusing and in some cases completely distorted or poorly explained . For true fans of the series, if you can accept these aspects, you will get the most out of the experience, just like I did!

8.5 / 10.0 - Gran Turismo 7
Mar 21, 2022

Gran Turismo 7 is without a doubt a masterpiece, both visually and in terms of innovation. The game has not escaped its origins and, presents a wonderful continuity to the franchise's reputation. The variety of vehicles is quite impressive, the amount of content that the game presents us is challenging and above all the gameplay is incredible. Driving in Gran Turismo 7 is without a doubt a unique experience and we recommend it to everyone… especially if you have access to a steering wheel and headphones. However, certain decisions are difficult to understand. This being the 8th game in the franchise, one would expect better choices from the developers, above all considering the mistakes they made in the previous title (Gran Turismo Sport). The impossibility of playing without being connected to the internet, the vehicles that, even with the microtransactions, are almost impossible to acquire and the weak focus given to local multiplayer are restrictions that can make anyone legitimately "turn up their nose" when looking at this game. If we ignore these details, Gran Turismo 7 is without a doubt a mandatory game for car lovers and without a doubt a title recommended by us!

8.5 / 10.0 - Yakuza 0
Aug 2, 2021

Yakuza 0 undoubtedly proves to be a must-have title for fans of this incredible saga. Likewise, it is a great starting point for those who want to start this journey. It manages to integrate the player well into its story, while making the perfect connection with the first original title, without leaving any loose ends or anything unexplained. Despite some minor technical problems, Yakuza 0 manages to take the player to the extremes of emotions with its remarkable story and a world full of magic and activities to do.

9 / 10.0 - Astro Bot
Oct 8, 2024

Astro Bot is a beautiful tribute to the trajectory that PlayStation has covered in its 30 years of existence. It manages to prove that the 3D platform game style is still alive and that, above all, it can have a lot of quality. I can't remember the last time I felt so excited about playing such a simple title, but with so much content. Now comes the real question: "Is this Astro, the new PlayStation mascot?" In my opinion, I think there is no other character as impactful at this exact moment as Astro and, after a game of this caliber, it would be more than fair to place him as the new face of this great company.

9 / 10.0 - Tekken 8
Feb 13, 2024

Tekken 8 came out a little later than the other games from the "rival" franchises. This is reflected in the Arcade Quest and Story modes, which are very similar to Street Fighter 6's. The story mode is not at the level of Mortal Kombat 1, however for a second story mode in 30 years, it is quite positive. The cast of characters is quite acceptable and perhaps this is where it gains the most points compared to the aforementioned rivals. Despite one bug or another, Tekken 8 is an excellent entry in the series and is a sign to demonstrate to fans of the genre that the franchise still has a lot to give. I can't wait to find out what the next battle this franchise will provide us with in the future!
