Saturnalia is a decent game. The clue board is something that many mystery games lack, giving this title an edge over others. And not having to run back and forth to re-acquire key items or clues is wonderful. Having a good memory will help with the gameplay, as usable items get shuffled back to their points of origin. If you’re down for a mystery title that is relatively short at six total hours of game time, this might be a great title for you.
Once you begin a thread in the Wayward Strand, you may want to follow. The people who you forge connections with will rely on you. And if you’re genuinely looking for a good cry. Or you would like a game that’s got more of a story than “point and shoot”, Wayward Strand is a perfect choice to fill those spots.
Townscaper VR is one of the first sandbox titles to appear on the Oculus Store. While there could be more to it, simply being in the marketplace is one step ahead of competitors. Despite feeling like it lacked a bit of content, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It still gives Meta Quest 2 users a rare treat.
Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate delivers a VR experience in a way that every new player hopes a game might. There’s nothing like walking through what’s essentially a dream world and talking to others. While VR controls in general are still being worked on, this title does well to make use of everything possible.
Like No Other: The Legend of the Twin Books is a short point-and-click adventure title. Explore the abandoned town of Red Pines and interact with the few who continue to dwell there. And finally, uncover the legend that has continued to live on in Red Pines.
Super Bullet Break pits you as Akari, a young woman against an evil AI. Your saved game files are in danger of deletion. Will you be able to stop the Singulaladies from overwriting your files with their own? I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a frustrating ride. If you’ve something of a short fuse, it’d be best to avoid increasing your blood pressure with Super Bullet Break. If you’re really into uphill battles, this is certainly one that poses a challenge to anyone hard-headed enough to accept it.
The Hand of Merlin throws players deep into a retold legend of King Arthur. The king has died, failing in the mission that Merlin tasked him with. It is now up to a group of new adventures to defeat the Cataclysm. If you’re looking for a new, fresh take on the King Arthur story, this is a great place to find it.
While METAL MAX Xeno Reborn had its share of what I see as issues, it was still a reasonably good game. The gameplay is relatively smooth, and there were no hiccups. It’s worth checking out if you’re a fan of anime-inspired titles.
DayZ drops players into a zombie-infested former Soviet territory. Explore a desolate wasteland with virtually no human presence. But beware, enemies both living and dead may lurk around every corner.
The Wanderer: Frankenstein's Creature tells Mary Shelly's story from a new perspective. See what it's like to live life as a creature and take a journey to find out what it means to exist. Victor Frankenstein expected to ‘create life.’ But did he intend for The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature to feel?
Magalan is an unforgiving world. But I have my fair share of help in Elex II. Only time will tell if it will be enough. Elex II continues the story of the former Alb, Jax. One Hand Clapping is an interesting tool in teaching its audience to recognize musical notes. With simple gameplay and graphics, it makes learning about music both easy and fun.
