All in all, Tchia isn’t a bad game, but it’s primarily intended for players who enjoy exploration and want to relax while playing. New Caledonia certainly has a certain charm, and Tchia’s setting sets it apart from other games with a similar focus. However, even that exotic charm isn’t enough to ensure the game offers long-term entertainment or to mask the boring and repetitive activities—though, on the other hand, there aren’t actually that many of them. Despite all that, Tchia manages to be somewhat engaging in its own way, and we’re giving it six and a half out of ten points.

City Bus Manager is the first game from Aerosoft in quite some time that has managed to pleasantly surprise me in many ways and put me in a positive frame of mind, making me think that the quality of games from this publisher might not be so bad after all. City Bus Manager is a simple and easy-to-understand management game that doesn’t aim for ultra-realism, but on the other hand offers decent management fun that you’ll appreciate, for example, as a way to relax after a hard day’s work. In addition, the game offers several surprising innovations, such as the implementation of OpenStreetMap, which provides you with a real-world map featuring actual city names and bus stops. We’ll see where the game goes in a few months, but even in early access, City Bus Manager simply managed to captivate me, and if, for example, you’re looking for a logical yet not too challenging game for kids, this title might be just the thing. For several months, I’d been looking forward to finally playing—even though I don’t own and have never owned a PlayStation console—one of the greatest gaming gems this console has ever seen. Instead of the excitement I’d sort of expected, I was met with a huge disappointment and a very cold, if not downright icy, shower. The Last of Us Part I is, overall, a disappointment in its PC version, and while the story and gameplay feel solid, all the positive aspects are quickly overshadowed by the terrible technical performance, which means you won’t get to fully enjoy the adventures of Joel Miller and Ellie Williams—at least not in its current state. On behalf of us at Gaming Professors, I’m giving the PC version a mere five out of ten points.

All in all, WWE 2K23 isn’t a bad game at all, and if you loved the previous installments, you’ll enjoy this year’s edition as well, which offers several improvements and, in particular, a significantly revamped 2K Showcase mode—which may even be the game’s main draw. However, if you’re a newcomer to the series looking to pick up WWE 2K23, be prepared for a steep learning curve, as everything seemed to suggest that the developers primarily focused on enhancing the experience for the older, die-hard generation of wrestling fans. Despite this, I’m giving the game seven out of ten points; fans can feel free to add that extra point.

Returnal is just as fantastic on PC as it was nearly two years ago on the PlayStation 5. If you’ve been dreaming of astronaut Selene Vassos’s adventure and are planning to pick it up, I can wholeheartedly recommend this game. Both the gameplay and technical aspects are definitely a success, and when you add the great story and production values to the mix, this is one of the best ports ever to arrive on the PC platform. There’s no need to beat around the bush—the PC version of Returnal earns a nine and a half out of ten from us. I really struggled to find any negatives—perhaps just the potential frustration from prolonged failure. That, however, is part and parcel of the rogue-lite genre.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake certainly lives up to its TV counterpart and is a great game for your kids who love Bikini Bottom just as much as I once did. So if you’re a SpongeBob fan or just want to treat your kids to something fun, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is the perfect choice. The overall experience is marred by just a few minor flaws—for us Czechs, mainly the lack of a Czech localization, which I would have expected for this type of game. Seven and a half out of ten.

In every respect, Garden Simulator is the kind of game primarily intended for players who already have some connection to the activity in question. In this case, we’re talking about gardening, which is handled quite well in the game, but it won’t appeal to everyone—especially not to those looking for long-term entertainment lasting dozens of hours. If you’re a gardening enthusiast, definitely pick up Garden Simulator and add an extra point to your final score. But if you’re a player who likes to try out simulators just for fun, save your money and invest it in a different, more entertaining simulator instead. Unfortunately, I belong to the second group, and from this perspective, I have to give Garden Simulator only six out of ten points.

Train Life: A Railway Simulator is an interesting train simulator, though it’s marred by a few shortcomings, such as a dull open world and terrible technical performance. Fortunately, these two issues are somewhat redeemed by the entertaining gameplay, which can truly keep you entertained for hours on end. If you’re a fan of SCS Software games and want to handle a few jobs in a slightly different way, or if you just love trains, I can recommend Train Life: A Railway Simulator despite its flaws. However, if you’re looking for a game where you can admire the scenery while driving, steer clear of this title. On behalf of us at Gaming Professors, I’m giving the game six and a half out of ten.

Knights of Honor II: Sovereign is a worthy sequel to an 18-year-old game, offering familiar elements and nearly identical gameplay with minimal innovation. Given its focus, it will primarily appeal to those who played the original in 2004. For everyone else, the Crusader Kings series is probably still the best choice, as it is, in my opinion, a bit more accessible even for newcomers. On behalf of Gaming Professors, I give the game seven out of ten points.

Need for Speed Unbound pleasantly surprised me in many ways, and it’s definitely the first step toward the series eventually returning to the golden age of Underground or Carbon. Aside from a few things, everything in the game really works, and after many years of fruitless efforts, this is definitely a glimmer of hope that the series will return to where it belongs. Believe it or not, but in my opinion, Need for Speed has yet to show its best. On behalf of us at Gaming Professors, I’m giving Unbound seven and a half out of ten.

WRC Generations is more of an evolution of the previous WRC 10, but in every respect, it represents the best that KT Racing and Nacon have been able to create over the years. If you’re a fan but already own one of the older titles, you should definitely invest the full price in WRC Generations. For owners of WRC 10, I recommend waiting for a small discount, but I can still recommend WRC Generations to them as KT Racing’s new flagship title. Construction Simulator managed to surprise me in many ways, even more than I personally expected. After the less-than-stellar previous installment, which was designed for consoles and mobile devices, the series has managed to redeem itself, and without further ado, I can call this new installment the best construction simulator of recent years. It’s just a shame about the technical issues, which we hope the developers will fix over time. From us at Gaming Professors, Construction Simulator gets eight out of ten points.

I won’t go into too much detail this time. Wreckfest is exactly the FlatOut sequel every fan could have hoped for, featuring all the elements, the driving mechanics, and the excellent destruction we’ve come to know from the past. Bugbear Entertainment has simply done a fantastic job, and Wreckfest earns a solid 8.5 out of 10 from us.

WRC 10 is undoubtedly the best installment in the FIA World Rally Championship series, and while it doesn’t offer any drastic changes, new players and die-hard fans of virtual rally racing will be thrilled with the new release. However, it remains to be seen whether it’s worth it for WRC 9 owners to invest in the new installment, despite the inclusion of a historic mode. In this case, I wouldn’t rush into buying it and would wait for a significant discount, by which time the title will also be better optimized from a technical standpoint. However, if you’re a new player or last played WRC 6 or WRC 7, we can definitely recommend WRC 10 even at its current price. Overall, the new installment earns a solid 8 out of 10 from our editorial team.

Unfortunately, MX vs ATV Legends failed to build on the success of its predecessors, and following the 2018 installment, we’ve been left with a subpar game that struggles in just about every aspect—whether it’s the odd physics model, the uninteresting career mode, overly aggressive and dumb opponents, or even the inability to customize the controls to your liking. Rainbow Studios really didn’t pull this off, and let’s hope the studio’s quality hasn’t gone anywhere. Now there’s nothing left to do but quickly forget about MX vs ATV Legends and hope for better days ahead. As for us, the Gaming Professors, the game gets three and a half points out of ten.

The arrival of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on PC screens can be described as a success, even though a few minor flaws and technical issues bring the title down a notch. Despite this, you’ll thoroughly enjoy both adventures, and I personally hope that we’ll eventually see a remaster and subsequent release of the previous installments as well—something I’d definitely welcome on PC. On behalf of us at Gaming Professors, the PC version of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection earns a splendid 7.5 out of 10. Were it not for the minor flaws, I would have gladly given the game 8.5, or even 9 out of 10.

Trail Out is a solid and well-made clone that draws heavily on the legendary FlatOut series. If, like me, you were frustrated by the quality of the last two installments and were looking for something to satisfy your craving for a return—which I hope we’ll see someday—Trail Out is the one. Unfortunately, the game also has a number of shortcomings, though these can be fixed with updates. We give it eight and a half out of ten.

F1 Manager 2022 is a very successful debut from Frontier Developments, and if the studio plans to further develop this series in the future, it could become an unrivaled management game—perhaps even the best I’ve ever seen. Of course, it also depends on whether the Formula 1 championship appeals to you. F1 Manager 2022 can appeal to both types of players—F1 fanatics as well as absolute newcomers. However, the overall experience is marred by subpar visuals and occasional technical glitches. From us at Gaming Professors, F1 Manager 2022 earns a solid 7.5 out of 10.

Imagine Earth is a truly excellent economic strategy game that, at its core, manages to captivate both seasoned players and strategy fans, as well as complete newcomers who don’t have much experience with the genre. I had an incredible time building civilizations, and thanks to its superb production values, I’m giving Imagine Earth a well-deserved eight out of ten.
