I think resources such as alegories, moral lessons, fanservice and references can be used to enrich what is already pleasant and not to make something good. Thus, these elements are not enough to null plot or direction issues in a movie, narrative issues in a book or even a shallow gameplay in a game. For that reason, Lost Dream Darkness ends up not having big merits because, though it left me intrigued and thoughtful, it failed a lot as a game.

5 / 10.0 - DreadOut 2
Jan 19, 2024

DreadOut 2 draws inspiration from consolidated franchises and titles, but it ends up delivering a clumsy, tedious and monotonous experience. Unfortunately, the promising premise of exploring legends from such a different culture is undervalued in a low quality horror game. Even if we consider the average works in the genre, there are more compelling options available.

Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2 is a game that presents an intriguing premise but executes it poorly, to say the least. Though it has some good value that might please fans of simulation and RPG, the title has a lot of annoying bugs that significantly hinder the experience.

5.5 / 10.0 - Castle Renovator
Apr 28, 2023

Sadly, I have to say the lack of challenge variety, the poorly distributed commands and the citizens who live [only] in the ideal plane reduce the qualities Castle Renovator could have. Despite that, for those who can ignore these issues, there's a good variety of resources to enrichen the building creation, so it might be some good entertainment for those who love creation and decoration.

5.5 / 10.0 - Remorse: The List
Mar 2, 2023

Remorse: The List has the potential to be a good addition to the Switch horror library, as it delivers a mysterious plot, satisfying puzzles to solve, and free exploration that fits the genre very well. Regrettably, this version does not appear to be complete, preventing me from progressing in the final minutes. Therefore, what remains is to hope that a future update will resolve this issue.

Horse Tales: Emerald Valley Ranch has a good potential, as it offers customization and raising of a really wide variety of horses. Sadly, the ambition of fitting all these elements in a giant terrain brings with it many issues that end up shadowing the good points. For that reason, the result is we have an unappealing area to explore and one of the worst performances I've seen on Nintendo Switch, giving it a poor impression as if it were unfinished.

6 / 10.0 - Tamarak Trail
Apr 1, 2024

Tamarak Trail presents an intriguing proposal by incorporating dice as a central piece of its combat mechanics. However, the title is hampered by the superficiality of its roguelike elements, resulting in a monotonous journey lacking a palpable sense of progress. Therefore, despite its potential, it is not recommended for those who have not yet explored all the good options available within the genre.

Devil Inside Us: Roots of Evil is a horror game with an unusual concept, putting us in the role of a physically vulnerable individual in a situation of extreme danger and urgency. However, the creatures leave a lot to be desired when it comes to their movements, and the presence of bugs compromises the general experience, resulting in a title that, despite its potential, doesn't reach the full extent of its expectations.

My Time at Sandrock smartly mixes simulation and RPG elements, creating a captivating and enticing world to explore and get to know in detail. Though the combat system isn't as pleasant as the others, it doesn't hinder the experience as a whole. Besides that, the crafting mechanic is very rich, prompting the player to enter a fun loop of exploration, gathering, creation and upgrade, which can definitely be worth hours of gameplay. Unfortunately, this ocean of content can't be properly explored on Switch due to severe performance issues, leaving us expecting future updates already promised by the developers to solve the issue.

Project Nightmares Case 36: Henrietta Kedward is a title with an interesting plot and compelling puzzles. However, unfortunately, the Switch version ends up set back by the lacking brightness, resulting in many disappointing moments.

With an intriguing premise and unique visuals, it's a shame that Skautfold: Usurper has so many gameplay issues. For those who are huge fans of the aforementioned genres, there are some pleasant aspects here, but patience is required in the course of the first few hours of gameplay. For those who want to know titles of this kind, there are friendlier and more accessible options on the market.

6.5 / 10.0 - Moonglow Bay
Apr 9, 2024

Moonglow Bay offers an experience that starts off incredibly engaging, but becomes monotonous and tedious before its conclusion. Throughout the campaign, its deficiencies and lack of a minimum of depth become increasingly evident, resulting in the limitation of the game's great potential.

Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections celebrates 15 years of the Storm series with intense combat and a vast number of characters. However, the lack of significant new features leaves the product much closer to a repetition than an evolution. In short, the true essence of the Leaf Ninja's journey is best explored in the numbered titles of this saga.

6.5 / 10.0 - Humankind
Sep 8, 2023

Humankind is, undeniably, a title rich in content and a great representative of its genre. However, unfortunately, its inadequate adaptation for consoles makes it just another example on the shelf of games that, perhaps, should have remained only on the PC.

Unfortunately, the new Nippon Ichi Software game showcases the basic [aspects] of what tactical RPGs can offer and limits itself to that, not introducing any aspect that makes it memorable. The exploration of soulless scenery isn't a positive highlight either, turning the repetition into something much more frustrating than appealing.

6.5 / 10.0 - Fallen Knight

Despite the problems presented, the visuals of the protagonists, some interesting skills and the well-designed bosses make Fallen Knight a competent and fun game, at least during the first few hours.

South Park: Snow Day! It's a brief, fun adventure full of humor. However, due to the lack of depth in its mechanics, it is a game that only manages to entertain during its few hours of campaign. Even with its post-game content, it is unlikely that the title will be able to captivate the player to the point of awakening the desire to play it again.

Death Trick: Double Blind presents an engaging mystery and puts us in the shoes of two protagonists in curious situations as we try to discover the culprit among intriguing suspects. However, it is important to note that the title may require some patience from the player due to performance issues on the Switch. For this reason, it may be more advisable to try this great game on another platform where it is available.

7 / 10.0 - Anglerfish
Mar 21, 2024

Anglerfish offers a curious premise, enriched by metalanguage elements in its narrative. Although the interesting mechanic of changing the path caused by death can occasionally lead to some monotonous runs due to the lack of significant variations, it is a game that is worth checking out.

Evil Nun: The Broken Mask doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, and didn't have to. By not taking itself so seriously, the game manages to incorporate a humorous touch, combining tension moments caused by the relentless pursuit with laughable situations thanks to the nun's cartoonesque aspect and behavior. Among recent Feardemic horror releases that I had the chance to play, this is definitely the most consistent.
