Railways: Train simulator does not feel like a simulator game at all and instead plays like a really simple mobile puzzle game. While each level has different environments and obstacles to throw you off your game, it still only feels like a game that is more suited to be either a Nintendo Switch or Mobile rather than a PC.
Shame Legacy definitely has a scare factor but is severely lacking in parts where it’s most important. Having aimed a bit too high for what they wanted, even with the game having an incredible amount of potential in terms of the lore and world setting, it has fallen short because of an overuse of cliches that have been used in just about every survival-horror game to date.
ONI: Road to Mightiest Oni has a gorgeous semi-open world with an emotionally driven soundtrack. While the gameplay may seem lacking at some points, the story makes up for it with an interesting tale about a little Oni’s struggle to become strong enough to protect his people and about the friends he makes on the island. That is if your PC can handle the jitter that happens in the second area.
Blockbuster Inc. is a great business management sim for both players new to business management simulators and veterans looking for something more relaxing. There is a lot to do and build in the game that will keep you busy for hours on end.
While Astor: Blade of the Monolith is well designed and the characters are colorful, the soundtrack is great but the combat system is easy compared to other Adventure RPGs. It’s a great game with potential that unfortunately feels a little undone in terms of story and character development.
Buckshot Roulette is an intriguing darkly themed gambling game. The stakes are high for thrill-seekers and those who are a little curious about Russian Roulette, it could just be what they seek when they take a gamble with The Dealer deep in the underground club.
Overall, Urban Jungle brilliantly combines simulation and storytelling, offering a calming escape for players. With its engaging mechanics and colorful environments, the game may just showcase a love for plants and nature and show off the subtle yet complex dynamics between the characters. It's still well worth the four hours of playing, although the soundtrack can be a little repetitive.
Contraband Police has good graphics and a pretty dynamic storyline to keep you curious about what’s happening. From day-to-day occurrences to hopping into a van in the hopes of making it to a side quest in time. You’ll find that there is much more to the game than meets the eye.
Blackout Protocol is a decent co-op rogue-lite with its own unique tricks. With the game being in Early Access, there is a great amount of potential for the game to add in content such as more playable characters and levels.
Voidtrain is a brand new take on survival craft with a Lovecraftian steampunk theme to it. Whether you play solo or with friends, every game will be different. Although the background music can eventually become stale, it still keeps you hooked on trying to build the best train you can with unique creatures, both friendly and not. Voidtrain is definitely a game to keep an eye on as it continues development in Early Access.
Whether fortifying defenses in campaign mode or striving for survival in endless mode, players can immerse themselves in the intricacies of city-building and active combat, making Diplomacy is Not an Option a standout title in the real-time strategy genre. It is a fantastic game for veteran RTS players looking for a new challenge. However, it isn’t a good game for someone just getting into real-time strategies.
Shift 87 is a gripping observational horror game developed by Pixelsplit Games and published by Daedalic Entertainment. With its spot-the-difference gameplay, it offers an immersive and unsettling experience in three different environments. The minimalist narrative and exceptional sound design contribute to the eerie atmosphere of Shift 87 and captivate the player on the hunt for anomalies. Shift 87 is a short horror game that offers a uniquely satisfying and rewarding experience for fans of the genre.
Highwater is a fantastic game with a story worth playing. It is highly immersive, allowing you to get lost in the gameplay for hours. It is a great casual turn-based strategy for those just looking to relax and watch a great story unfold rather than stress over how to out-strategize the enemy.
While not the most groundbreaking simulator on the market, Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master is a game that delivers abundant laughs and suspense! The game’s tiny Easter eggs rooted in modern pop culture and its comedic characters effortlessly take center stage. Simultaneously, the game maintains a commendable level of seriousness and challenge, striking a satisfying balance that will keep veteran players and newcomers alike captivated.
Thief Simulator 2 is an amazing stealth simulation and has really improved on a lot of aspects from the first game. Its controls are easy to learn and can be fun for those who enjoy stealth simulations or just about any stealth game.
Highrise City is an incredibly immersive city builder with a sharp learning curve for those who expect it to just be a normal city builder, as a lot of the mechanics come from economic and resource management simulators. If you are familiar with typical city builders and are thinking Highrise City might be the same, you may just be biting off more than you can chew if you ignore the tutorials.
Alien Hominid Invasion is a fast-paced Run ‘n Gun platformer with roguelike mechanics that is great either alone or played with friends. While it would’ve been nice to have more variety in the objectives of a level, you can tell that The Behemoth put a lot of effort into giving players a lot of ways to play the game.
House Flipper’s Farm DLC is a unique and more quality-of-life addition to an otherwise engaging game that can keep you busy for hours. While there are some obvious bugs, they don’t detract from the overall gameplay but they can still be annoying for those just starting. You can still unleash your inner creative demon and find your style in this home design simulator game.
The Fool's Apprentice is Portal meets Black Mirror, with a dash of The Sims' chaos. It's the rare game that makes being the villain feel both hilarious and horrifying, perfect for players who think, "What if I ran a school… but terribly?" Just remember: when the Council of Mages asks about the "missing" students, those portals don't open themselves.
Maliki : Poison of the Past is a time-bending RPG adventure set in a beautifully hand-drawn world inspired by French comics. With its unique blend of survival mechanics and turn-based combat, the game offers a charming yet challenging experience that stays true to its beloved comic book roots.
