I went into Naheulbeuk's Dungeon Master really ready to enjoy all the work that goes into making a dungeon great. Unfortunately there just wasn't all that much to do. Between an underbaked tavern, limited dungeon management, and an unbalanced staffing system, it feels like a game that just needed more time to decide what it wanted to be. If it does get updated down the line it may be worth revisiting. As it is now though, I can't say I feel it worth the price of admission.

I think it is necessary to see Naheulbeuk's Dungeon Master as an introductory proposal for the genre and a game that in small portions of consumption can give you fun times. Its campaign, humor and missions are attractive despite its limitations or wrong decisions in execution. We are not facing the panacea of simulation and management and of course we are very far from works like Dungeon Keeper, but it is not a terrible experience either.

While not the most groundbreaking simulator on the market, Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master is a game that delivers abundant laughs and suspense! The game’s tiny Easter eggs rooted in modern pop culture and its comedic characters effortlessly take center stage. Simultaneously, the game maintains a commendable level of seriousness and challenge, striking a satisfying balance that will keep veteran players and newcomers alike captivated.

Although Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master doesn’t convey exactly the same idea as its spiritual predecessor, that doesn’t mean it lags behind it. This title offers fun for hours on end, with an incredibly satisfying hint of creativity and the possibility of replayability is always a good approach in a management and construction game.

A satirical take on beloved 90s dungeon builders, Naheulbeuk's Dungeon Master struggles to capture much of the Bullfrog magic.
