RUINSMAGUS Reviews
RuinsMagus is a serviceable option for JRPG fans clamoring for a JRPG in VR, but it fails to live up to the great first impression it makes.
The combat of RUINSMAGUS: COMPLETE doesn't offer much satisfaction but hanging out in its town is nothing short of delightful.
Given PSVR2‘s current RPG offerings, RUINSMAGUS: Complete is a breath of fresh air with its mission-based incursions into its dangerous catacombs, customizable equipment, and narrative focused on climbing the ranks of the Magus Guild. Ultimately, the empowering sensation of being a mage in control of all their powers is a feeling this game recreates well. At the best of times, it can make you feel like you are inside a classic fantasy story, and if that is what you have been searching for, look no further.
Ruins Magus does provide a good gameplay experience, the movement and combat are fun, but everything else seems to be lacking. It almost feels like the budget ran out as fast as the ideas, but it didn’t end up a total mess.
RUINSMAGUS is a really good start for JRPG's in VR. Currently, there are not many VR games in this genre, and this game gives users a good feel of what is possible. There is beautiful Japanese narration and many dialog boxes to read as fitting to the genre. You feel like you are playing the lead character in an anime show.
