If you're looking for a dip in and out arcade fix though, Extreme Exorcism ranks among the best I have ever played. Its fast and frantic nature allows anyone to play – and to feel good at it – while at the same time offering enough depth for score hunters to master the perfect strategy on it's various stages. This coupled with its excellent multiplayer makes Extreme Exorcism well worth a look.

If anything, Extreme Exorcism is a game for those who have tried TowerFall and Samurai Gunn at their parties and want something even more hectic, and bustin' makes them feel good; otherwise players new to the genre may feel a bit overwhelmed with the amount of on-screen action. As far as 2D arena bralwers go, Extreme Exorcism will never live up to Towerfall. Without any meaningful variety the experiences turns staler than a month old loaf of bread.

Extreme Exorcism is a action arcade game with a creative take on battling memory and reflex. There's not a whole lot to explore after playing for a few hours - just pick a room in the house, grab the weapons, kill the crowned copycat ghost, repeat. Do not expect this to hold attention for long, given that the only substantial purpose to press on is to unlock more weapons and see different rooms of the mansion. The battle against the copycat ghost is a selfless one, but somebody's got to do it… or maybe not.

Extreme Exorcism winds up taking a very simple idea, splashing it with variety, and turning it into something that's not just well done, but tons of fun. With solid mechanics, visuals, and audio to back up the intense, engaging gameplay, it creates a fantastic experience whether you're playing alone or are in a multiplayer game.
