Great game, half way through and love it. Really like the Shield and game play.
STOP comparing this game with the older games. Doom: The Dark Ages is AMAZING! Replayed it 5-6 times already, on my 7th run now concurrently while watching my partner play her run as well (So 8?)
Some hard-core DOOM fans will compare the game with the older games like Doom Eternal,
This game is almost perfect, and it's the best Doom game I've ever played.
Thank lord they didn’t waste resources on any kind of multiplayer mode. Instead they delivered awesome campaign of proper lenght not like some 5/6 hours bullshit. Gameplay loop is pure carnage, great cinematics, expended lore, peak level design and awesome art direction. Everything metal af from the the locations, through
In an era when so few FPS games are being released, this one is definitely worth the full price. id Software has been defining the genre since the '90s, and somehow, they still manage to do it.
Gameplay is better than both last games (the addition of the shield and rechargeable melee was my favourite part of this game).
The map diversity is awesome.
The length of the cinematic scenes were perfect (personal opinion, I do not like games with movie length cutscenes).
There are more story elements to this
Every aspect of this game from gameplay, story, music, gigantic mechs to the arsenal and level design makes you feel like an unstoppable force of nature. No one does that as well as the DOOM franchise and The Dark Ages is just the pinnacle of that!
The art direction of this game is insane! The story is badass, gampelay loop is inceribly satysfiaing and the game has just just perfect length. My only issue is that dragon sections look cool but from the gameplay perspective they are flat and simple.
It's rare to come across such a polished and dopamine-packed title that’s fully focused on single-player experience. The Dark Ages bombards you at every turn with epic battles, a badass story, brilliant art direction, and an arsenal worthy only of the Doom Slayer. And the newly introduced shield is
This game looks like it was made 20 years ago. Epic action, gigantic mechs, dragons, larger than life villains and incredible levels. Reminded me why I fell in love with gaming.
This game has the best boss fights in modern triolgy, best enemy variety, best story, best villain and art direction sick as ever. The only downsides are the sound mixing, which could’ve been better, and the lack of a fast travel option for collecting all the secrets like in Eternal.
Id Software returns with the legendary DOOM, once again changing the gameplay formula, and man, did they deliver. This game is absolutely insane, and massive respect goes to the whole team for taking a risk instead of making a safe sequel. The new approach to gameplay truly makes you feel
I am really enjoying this game! I tried 2016 and Eternal, didn't like either one but I fell in with it after the first few missions. I don't care for the story all that much but the combat is addicting. My favorite weapon so far is the shield, its very
Doom: The Dark Ages is, without a doubt, the best Doom to date. It sticks to the franchise's signature formula of fast-paced, ultra-violent action, but refines and enhances it in every possible way. The biggest innovation is the introduction of the shield — a mechanic that not only adds variety,
The game has it's moments, the beginning was awesome, action packed, intriguing, the gun\shield play was an interesting twist on the formula. But it later on became bland and lackluster. I finished the game, 17 out of the 22 missions are 100% on the first playthrough and I don't feel
