Prototype Biohazard Bundle Reviews
Prototype 2 certainly offers a stronger experience than Prototype, but it's still thoroughly outclassed on current gen consoles by Saints Row IV and Infamous: Second Son. At its best, a remaster can be a great reminder of why we loved a game to begin with. Had the Prototype Biohazard Bundle actually been a full upgrade, it would at least show us how far we've come. But given even Prototype 2's mind-boggling technical limitations, this troubled bundle is more of a reminder that mediocrity is still not obsolete.
Prototype Biohazard Bundle is a questionable release. While it's an acceptable port to the current generation platforms, the Prototype duo don't hold up well in the current environment.
Neither game really does anything wrong, but this remaster does nothing whatsoever to justify its existence, in some cases running worse than the originals.
I know people dislike these games in general, but they deserved a bit better than this.
Basically, if you have the games already, there's nothing new here for you. If you don't have them already, there's still nothing here for you.
Sadly this "remaster" is nothing even remotely close to that. It is two games, somehow coded to run on new consoles, and a reminder that backwards compatibility is indeed a possibility. Nothing has been added, no care given, and sadly these games deserve better than that.
The Prototype Collection is a terribly flawed attempt to add a layer of polish to two games that are already rusted and tarnished from age and technical issues.
Prototype still has potential as a series- everyone loves getting a chance to be an monster!- and we can only hope that we haven't seen the last of Mercer and his ilk. Maybe if they had take a little more care with releasing these it would have had a better shot.
